If a PG course is what one wants to do, then PG in Digital Electronics (In possibly all digital related fields), Wireless communication (According to me, very secured future-at least 2 to 3 decades, in case one lands in a meaningful job), VLSI & Embedded systems (Fair one, all leading smartphone companies, electronic hardware companies need them), Power Electronics (To cease opportunities in emerging renewable energy production market), and further inter-disciplinary ones like Mechatronics (considering future is of robots and artificial intelligence, this also should be very reliable), etc.
Further rarely, rather than a M.tech or M.S there are MBA courses in few Electronic branches like MBA in Power Electronics Management that not only ensures one be in core field but also gives opportunities to work in managerial positions as to develop leadership skills.
With added coding skills in ECE engineers, the sustainability of an average and above average student in the core field is very promising in both Hardware, Firmware and Software fields.
