Yes, as an OCI cardholder, you are eligible to apply for TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions) under the "Open Category". However, this eligibility does not apply if you were born in a foreign country after March 4, 2021

Candidates holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cards are permitted to participate in TNEA under the "Open Category".

If you are a native of Tamil Nadu, you are also eligible to participate in TNEA.

You are only eligible for TNEA if you have completed your Class VIII to Class XII in Tamil Nadu or If you are Native Tamil Nadu and have passed any of the VIII, IX, X, XI and XII outside Tamil Nadu.

In all these cases you need to show your domicile or related documents.

To apply, you can simply fill out the application form.

I hope it will help.

Different cources at this Institute have different eligibility criterias.Apart from TNEA you should have passed your 12 with 50 or 40 percent in some of the cases. If you are pursuing PG cources like MTech, You need to have a bachelor's degree on your specific feild from a recognised university. Also in engineering feild, exams like JEE advance is also accepted. Medical cources needs exams like NEET to be qualified. So the final answer is apart from TNEA you need to have passed your 12 th.

Hello Pranith, Tamilnadu government has put stringent conditions for eligibility. However lots of seats, more than 50K, remained vacant last year and as per reports, private colleges are putting pressure on Tamil Nadu government to ease some conditions of eligibility enabling students outside the state can come and fill up vacancies. But when this happens nobody can tell. You will have to wait till release of notification. I am attaching a link that will give you all the required information about TNEA. https://www.shiksha.com/b-tech/tnea-exam
Best wishes to you.

Hello, normally speaking no. There are quite stringent eligibility criteria prescribed by the Tamilnadu government for TNEA. However with increasing number of seats lying vacant, pressure is mounting on Tamil Nadu government to relax these conditions. You need to wait for some more time. In the meantime I am attaching a link that will give you all the required information about different aspects of TNEA. https://www.shiksha.com/b-tech/tnea-exam
Best wishes to you.
