There are a total of 580 seats for BE courses. Out of the total intake, some seats are reserved for various categories. The seat allotment is done based on merit in JEE Main. UIET reserves the right to revise the seat count in an academic year. Below is BE specialisation-wise intake:

As per the UIET Chandigarh, cutoff for Round 4 in 2023, the closing ranks for all BE specialisations ranged from 44170 to 146444. The most competitive specialisation has been Computer Science and Engineering with a closing rank of 44170, followed by Information Technology with 53185 rank.
Analysis of cut offs for previous years for Computer Science and Engineering reveals that, UIET Chandigarh has seen a declining trend compared to 2022. UIET Chandigarh admission to BTech is based on JEE Main score. The inter-se merit of the candidates for BE admission will be determined on the basis of All India Rank (AIR) obtained in JEE Main 2025 only, except in the Sports Category and the Defence Category. After completion of the selection rounds, BE candidates have to participate in JAC Counselling and provide their preferred institute. Once the seat is allotted, candidates need to pay course fee to confirm their seat.

Earlier, the highest On-Campus and Off-Campus the highest package offered during UIET Chandigarh placements 2022 stood at INR 45 LPA and INR 50 LPA, respectively. UIET is ranked among the best 30 engineering colleges in India. It has a very high placement percentage with an average pay package of INR 8.72 LPA in the year 2023. UIET’s infrastructure is quite good: well-equipped classrooms, laboratories, workshops, a library, computer center, sports complex and a canteen.
The faculty at UIET are said to be one of the finest within the region. Some feel that it is a good college for placements, infrastructure and campus life as well.
