The University of Cambridge is very selective in finding the right candidates for the courses offered here. The acceptance rate stands at 21.49% meaning out of every 100 applications, only 21 to 22 students were rolled out an offer letter.

International students are required to put their best foot forward to receive an offer from this university. To get admitted, students would need -

  • Great academic background
  • English language proficiency
  • Great essays
  • An updated resume
  • Diverse extracurriculars

It is tough to be a part of the University of Cambridge admissions because this university is quite selective in finding the best candidates. As a result, international students are required to have a competitive GPA. According to some unofficial sources, a competitive GPA for a Cambridge application is 3.8 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

International students can avail of many University of Cambridge scholarships which includes Gates Cambridge, Cambridge Trust, and many country-based scholarships. The total number of the scholarships available is over 500 which support 1.100 to 1,400 students annually.

The main focus of these scholarships is mostly postgraduate funding which covers full tuition, living costs, travel, visa costs, and may have allowances for family or research expenses.

As an Indian student, you would have to provide additional qualifications over your Class 12th scores. This can be good scores in SAT, AP, or 1 year of the UG studies at a recognised Indian college or university. Application based on Class 12th scores alone, is unlikely to be accepted.
