Rooting back to the 1200s, the University of Cambridge holds the baton of being the fourth the oldest university in the world. It was founded by a group of scholars in the city of Cambridge in the year 1209. In 1284, the Bishop of fly founded Peterhouse - the first college in Cambridge University.
