Both Missouri & Houston are considered among the best institutions of their regions however both institutions are selective when it comes to accepting students as the University of Missouri has an acceptance rate of around 79% while that of Houston Uni stands at around 70% which suggests that although they are largely similar in terms of acceptance rate University of Missouri is slightly easier to secure admisisons at than University of Houston.

TAMU is known for its programs in the disciplines like Engineering, Agriculture and Business. Meanwhile, the University of Houston is known for its Business school. The acceptance rate of TAMU is around 63%, whereas, the University of Houston acceptance rate is around 70%. Looking at the acceptance rate, it can be said that TAMU is more selective than Houston University.

Yes, as an Indian student, you will have to get a good score in the GRE. Other than that also submit some other documents like academic transcripts, SOP, a Resume or CV, three LORs, and finally, good scores in English tests.

Houston University graduate application fee is USD 80 for international applicants. This is equivalent to INR 7,000. To apply to graduate courses, the applicants are required to have an UG degree and specific test scores such as GMAT / GRE. A few of the documents required to apply are:

Yes, the University of Houston requires IELTS score. Apart from the, IELTS score, students can also submit TOEFL or Duolingo scores. The minimum scores that are required are:

  • IELTS: 6.5 overall
  • TOEFL: 79

To get into Houston University MS in Statistics and Data Science course, the applicants should have a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the last 60 hours. The applicants are required to have a Bachelor's or Master's degree. A major in Mathematics is not required. Pre-requisites include Calculus II and Linear Algebra.
