International students need to submit certain admission documents to apply to the University of Houston! With the minimum eligibility criteria already prescribed for GPA academic records and official transcripts English language proficiency proof is required with the help of tests like IELTS or TOEFL or PTE or Duolingo along with some other educational documents.
The applicants should ensure that they have the scanned copies of all the documents mentioned above.

As per the official website of the University of Houston, international students are required to have an equivalent GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. These students are also expected to demonstrate a level of English language proficiency, for which the minimum score requirements are mentioned below:
IELTS: 6.5 overall
TOEFL iBT: 79
Duolingo: 105
Please note that some UH programs might have higher score requirements.

U of Houston was founded in 1927 and its primary focus was training future teachers. At the time of establishment, this university was Houston Junior College and the classes were held on the Jacinto High School campus. It became the University of Houston in 1934 and later joined the University of Houston system in 1977. Most of the individual colleges at this university have their own traditions ranging from Frontier Fiesta, Cougar Red Friday, Cougar Sign, and Blessings of the Rings, etc.

Yes, F-1 students with valid -20 issued at UH are allowed to work part time, not more than 20 hours per week, except for school breaks and the student's annual vacation.
