The campus size of the UIS is 746 acres. UIS is located on the southside of Springield, Illinois, near Lake Springfield. UIS is located around 200 miles of southwest of Chicago. This university is a NCAA Division II member.

For 7th year consecutively, the Uni of Illinois Springfield has been ranked at #1 public regional university as per U.S. News & World Report 2026. Also, 83% of the students find employment after the graduation. There are 4,000+ students at UIS. This means that the classes are not too small or big and the professors can really pay attention to their students.

Yes, the Uni of Illinois Springfield is ranked among the Top 25 schools for value. It ranks at #22 in the Best Value schools category by U.S News for 2026. It was placed among the Top 25 schools for value category since 2022.

The University of Illinois Springfield is a member of the NCAA Division II. Also, for recreation, UIS campus offers many facilities like cricket field, REC Park, Tennis courts, Sports club field, etc. There are a few sports clubs of this university such as Soccer, Dodgeball (Men's), and Cricket.

UIS MS in Computer Science is a two-year long course. This course is also a STEM-designated course. Students can apply to this course via online mode only. A statement of purpose has to be submitted along with the previous studies transcripts.
