U of S has been home to a number of notable individuals across a number of industries, including Sports, Politics, Media, Hollywood, Medicine & Justice.

The most notable Indian to have pursued their higher studies at University of Scranton is Kalanithi Maran, an Indian media proprietor, chairman & founder of the Sun Group.
Maran owns a number of TV channels, newspapers, weekly magazines, radio stations, DTH services as well as the IPL team: Sunrisers Hyderabad.
He was also a majority shareholder in Indian airline: Spice Jet, between 2010 & 2015.

As per data curated from an unofficial source, as of Fall 2023, the University of Scranton had an undergraduate enrolment of 3,666 students. Of this, 43.2% i.e. 1,583 students were males while the remaining 56.7% i.e. 2,082 students were female students.
There's a disparity between the two genders, with females dominating the overall UG student population at the university.

Both Scranton & Valparaiso are popular among international students for their overall quality of education & the post-study employment opportunities they offer among some other factors.
However, both these institutions are somewhat selective when it comes to accepting admission applications, prioritising students with better qualifications. The Scranton University has an acceptance rate of around 84%, while that of Valparaiso University is 94%. Though, both are very similar in terms of accepting applications, Valparaiso is relatively easier to secure admissions to than Scranton.
