The University of Winnipeg President's Scholarship for World Leaders is awarded to international students entering the university's divisions UG, PG, Collegiate, etc., divisions for the first time. To avail this scholarship, the applicants must have completed the admission application by the scholarship deadline. Students are required to have an equivalent of 80% grade average, based on Grade 12 academic courses for admission. Documents that have to be submitted with the application are personal statement, CV, two reference letters.

For admission to UG courses, Class 12 completion is required with the minimum percentage. On the other hand, for admission to PG courses, a bachelor's degree is required. The minimum GPA has been mentioned by Winnipeg University for graduate courses. Most graduate courses require a 4-year General or Honors Bachelor's degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (minimum 70%). There should be no grade less than C+ in the last two years of full-time university studies. Note that some courses may have higher additional standards. UofW offers a variety of services including orientation, socio-cultural events, and a mentorship programme to international students. Students can also take part in the sports / athletics. This university is home to The Winnipeg Wesmen men's and women's volleyball and basketball teams, and a women's soccer team. Yes, Winnipeg University offers co-op programs. However, it is open for students who are pursuing degrees from the departments of Accounting, Applied Computer Science, Economics, and Business Administration.
The Co-op Education programme allows students an opportunity to gain hands-on work experience in their chosen field while attending the university. This is a paid work and salary is negotiated between the student and the hiring industry. Generally, the salaries in 2024 averaged at CAD 20-CAD 22 per hour.
