Agra: From 2015-16 academic session, Agra college will conducts its own entrance exams to admit students to various courses it offers. The students will no longer be admitted on the basis of the marks obtained in Class XII. The college will organize entrance tests for more than 3,000 seats under various courses.
This will the first time in Agra that any college will conduct an entrance exam for the admissions. The authorities of Dr BR Ambedkar University have suggested that all colleges in the city should conduct entrance exams for admissions in colleges. Since, you have already completed your Diploma course, you can pursue B.Tech in mechanical engineering via lateral entry i.e. taking admission directly in the 2nd year provided that you have scored the qualifying marks depending upon the colleges (generally above 50%).
