For VIT Chennai, the no. of students who sat for placements were around 200 (maybe a little more). The number of core companies which came for placements in 2016 are as follows:
L&T
Godrej
Vedanta
Shapoorji pallonji
The no. of students recruited by each were 23, 7, 1, 2 respectively. The exact data can be seen at their official website. I would recommend you to prepare for government jobs as they have higher package, respectable positions and most important job security.
All the best for your future.

Yes, there is no doubt that VIT is more preferred over Vellore, as it is their main campus. They actually have an advantage that Bengaluru is the largest Technological hub of India, so they have a great location advantage, and they have a very good faculty base, as I was told by a relative of mine who studied there. So, I would recommend to go for VIT-Vellore.

Vellore and Chennai Campus students enjoy equal privileges as far as placements are considered. While most of the students (including CSE) are placed in IT majors like Accenture Cognizant Infosys etc. with a salary package of INR 3.5-4 lakhs on an average, but a good number of students are placed in top tech companies like Google Microsoft Ebay Flipkart Amazon etc. with salary of above INR 10 lakhs with the highest being INR 18lakhs/24lakhs as far as I know .Placements are centralised. Chennai Campus students are taken to Vellore for placements. Now as far as seats are considered it is approximately 200-250. Get a rank under 13000 to g

Hi there,
Well, the choice between these two colleges is not difficult as per me as both of them are not much known for law as such though are good institutes. However, VIT University, Chennai is much preferred for B.Tech courses and also, it has better infrastructure, faculties and placements.
Now, if you were to choose between these two, then on the basis of faculties, infrastructure and the placements, VIT would be a good choice.
They have some very good recruiters for other fields of education which makes it likely to have good placement for law as well.
Also, the infrastructure is amazing which certainly helps you throughout your year

All this has let the institution to build a great image in the education industry and the amount of placement and package the students get is perfectly good. Choosing such an institution will not be a bad idea.

Hi there,
Well NLU Odisha is a specialized NLU meant only for legal education while VIT, Chennai offers other courses as well thus the difference is made.
Apart from this NLU Odisha has certain advantages owing to its NLU tag and thus has better academics and better standards in terms of LLB than VIT.
The infrastructure is good including playgrounds and other sports facilities and it also hosts a number of co-curricular activities including music debates etc. The infrastructure thus is satisfactory and caters to every need.
Placements for students seem to be satisfactory as tier 2 and tier 3 law firms do recruit here and also you have oth
