Someone who has been a British overseas territory's citizen by connection with Hong Kong can be entitled as the British National (overseas), (BNO). A British National (Overseas) Visa allows BNOs and applicants from Hong Kong to come to live and work in the UK even without having a job offer.

This visa also opens ways to permanent residence after a period of years in the UK and the recipients also become eligible for benefits like certain public funds to support their living in the UK.

Although it is crucial to show that you have the resources to sustain yourself while studying in the UK, specifics regarding your financial status are usually included in separate documents, including bank statements or letters of sponsorship. In your SOP, you may, however, briefly address your financial readiness and your commitment to abide by UK visa restrictions regarding financial obligations.

The Gisma University of Applied Sciences offers international students the chance to begin their studies online while awaiting their visa. This was an initiative introduced by the university in April 2020 when the studies were shifted to a virtual format.

The university based Streaming programs allow students to start their academic programs online and then continue their studies in a face-to-face environment once students can travel to Germany. Streaming learning gives students access to a virtual classroom and therefore offers a very similar experience to face-to-face learning.
