Your admission can be deferred for up to two academic years. This allows a chance to secure a new visa interview appointment and try again.  If you were denied and do not wish to try again, and followed the procedure here, you may receive a refund of the $500 deposit minus a $50 administrative processing fee.

USA offers 3 types of visas to students- F-1, J-1 and M-1. Fees of student visa depends on type that has been chosen to apply for. So cost of student visa will depend on type of visa you are applying for. F-1 visa is for international students who are applying for a programme in any American university that requires more than 18 hours of study in a week. The US visa cost for an F-1 student visa is USD 185.

In your cover letter for student visa, the authorities will determine your intent to come to Germany and your financial stability for the same. Hence, always provide a suitable justification for the programme you are applying for, personal and academic background, your plans after completing your degree, your intent to return and sources of funding. Other than this, your reasons to apply for a particular university and country-specific reasons are also essential.
