No, 75% is not required for VITEEE. The minimum qualifying mark is 60% marks in physics, mathematics and chemistry. On the other hand, for SC/ST, Jammu and Ladakh and North-Eastern states, the minimum qualifying mark is 50%. 

According to the subject requirement, 60% or 50% is calculated based on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology. PCB is required for Biotech/Bioengineering.

To apply for VIT exam, it is very important to meet the eligibility requirements, which are as follows-

  • Candidates date of birth must fall on or after July 1, 2004

  • Must have completed 10+2 or equivalent. Candidates appearing in final exam can also apply.

  • Must have a minimum 60% marks in physics, mathematics and chemistry

  • For SC/ST, Jammu and Ladakh and North-Eastern states, the minimum qualifying mark is 50%

Candidates who have submitted their application form will be able to download admit card. To receive VITEEE admit card 2026, slot booking is mandatory.

Yes, absolutely exam pattern is important for VITEEE preparation as it help student to understand how the VIT exam is conducted. Now that negative marking is introduced, candidates must be well aware of the marking scheme and prepare accordingly. In addition, students must focus on accuracy and time management skills apart from clearing concepts.

VIT merit list is prepared based on candidate's performance in Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE). To prepare merit list, percentile score is evaluated as exam is conducted in multiple sessions to ensure fairness among papers.

Candidates have to pay a fee to participate in the counselling process of VITEEE. They have to pay the counselling fee of INR 5900. This fee is non-refundable. This fee will be remitted on the declaration of results.

Candidates do not have the option of choosing campus and programme while filling the VITEEE application form. Only at the time of counseling, candidates are offered the option of choosing campus and programme. This depends on the availability of the programme and campus as per the rank of candidates in VITEEE exam.

VIT conducts the VITEEE exam as an entrance test for its BTech courses. Candidates have to pay a fee of INR 1350 for the VITEEE application while applying for the VITEEE exam. This fee is non-refundable. It can be paid by the students online. It needs to be paid before the deadline to apply successfully.

Admission to the BTech courses in VIT is based on the ranks of the candidates in the VITEEE entrance exam. VITEEE is a computer-based test (CBT). The duration of VITEEE is 2 hours and 30 minutes. There are a total of 125 questions. 

35 questions are alloted to Physics and Chemistry each. 10 questions are allotted to Aptitude. 5 questions are allotted to English. 40 questions are alloted to Mathematics (MPCEA)/ Biology (BPCEA).
