Hello Roshni, V NIT-Nagpur is one of the oldest and most sought after NIT for aspirants of engineering seats. Due to this the cut offs are on the higher side in this Institute of national eminence. I am attaching a link that will give you the information about historical cutoffs that were seen in the previous years. You can draw your conclusion based on this as to what could be the cutoff in this year 2019. Best wishes to you.

eligibility conditions say that the student should have passed 12th or equivalent in a particular year. Now many states including the state of Maharashtra have declared Diploma as equivalent to 12th and hence from this perspective you will be allowed to appear for JEE Mains. The admissions to VNIT or any other NIT will be strictly as per the all India rank declared by NTA after they complete their second set of examinations in April. So if you want to get admission you need to appear for and score a percentile of above 85 if you want to get admission in your desired NIT. Best wishes to you.

I must first congratulate you on your scoring so handsomely in JEE Mains. I feel you should get whatever branch and NIT that you desire. However to be on the safe side, I am attaching a link that will give you all the required information about predicting college by inputting percentile. As far as placements and education are concerned, from my point of view a NIT is far better than a reputed state government college. Its my personal suggestion (as I'm from VNIT), that the environment and facilities at VNIT are too good.

Yes, at this score there is 60% chances to get admission. If you are not getting admission on your JEE main score you can ask college authority for management quota seats but management seats are totally at the discretion of the college.

Yes, you can get admission in the 2nd year directly in the metallurgy department. For that, you have to appear for the Lateral Entry Entrance Examination i.e. conducted by state engineering entrance examination or the different private colleges that conduct their own examination.
Good luck.
