No. Most of the new IIMs have their cut-off requirement set at 85 with IIM Shillong having a cut-off set at 70 in CAT.

It is a fact that institutes want diversity in their batches. There is no restriction on educational background for appearing in the XAT. If the candidates meet the basic eligibility criteria, they can appear for XAT. The cut-off is 50 percentile. However, IBI conduct a day-long Personality Profiling Exercise including Group Discussion and Personal Interview for levelling various factors of selection standard. Based on performance in all these tests, Academic achievements and Work Experience, cut-off for IBI admission is determined.
