AUAT 2026 Pattern - Aliah University prescribes the exam pattern and marking scheme for AUAT. It is important that the aspirants get familiar with the AUAT 2026 pattern well before appearing and preparing for the test. Doing so will give them clarity and help them prepare better. The same goes for AUAT 2026 syllabus. According to the AUAT 2026 pattern, the entrance test will be conducted offline (pen & paper-based test). There will be a total of 100 multiple-choice questions in the AUAT paper. Examinees will be given 2 hours to take all the questions. Learn more about AUAT pattern in the table below.

Q:   What is Aliah University Admission Test (AUAT) exam?
A: 

The Aliah University Admission Test is held by the Aliah University, Kolkata to provide admission to candidates into various undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses offered by the university. AUAT is conducted in offline mode (pen and paper test) and the duration of the entrance exam is 2 hours. Candidates have to register themselves online on the official website of Aliah University to fill out the AUAT application forms.

To prepare for the AUAT exam, candidates need to know and understand the exam pattern, marking scheme, and syllabus well enough to ace the entrance exam. The entrance exam is divided into two parts, Part A and Part B. Part A is based on general knowledge and testing of the English skills which is of 25 marks while Part B is based on the course opted for, which carries 75 marks.

The AUAT marking scheme is as such that for every correct answer, 1 mark will be awarded. There is no negative marking. The marking scheme is as mentioned below:

In order to pursue BA at Aliah University, candidates should have secured a minimum of 45% in 10+2 and should have the relevant subjects and for BA and BTech / Integrated 5 -years candidates should have done 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and should have secured a minimum of 60%.

Q:   What are the eligibility criteria for BSc / Integrated 5 years, BSc (Nursing) (4 years) and BBA?
A: 

In order to pursue BSc / Integrated 5 years, candidate should have the relevant subjects and should have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 60%. For BSc (Nursing) (4 years) course, candidate should have secured a minimum 45% in 10+2 and should have Physics, Chemistry and Biology as the subjects taken in 10+2 and for BBA, candidates should done 10+2 with the relevant subjects and should have secured a minimum of 60% in 10+2.

AUAT Exam Pattern 2026

The question papers of AUAT-2026 will carry 100 marks. The test will be 2 hour long. There will be 100 objective-type or multiple-choice questions (MCQ) for each course except for B.A.(Hons.)/ M.A. in English, Arabic, Bengali and M.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication. For these courses, there will be 84 objective types or multiple-choice questions (MCQ) (84 marks) and rest (16 marks) will be allotted to descriptive type questions.

All questions of AUAT- 2026 (UG and PG) will be 20% on General knowledge, General English and Islamic Culture, and 80% from the relevant subject. The AUAT question paper will be divided into two parts which is Part A and Part B.

  • Part A – Questions asked will be on general knowledge and testing English skills.
  • Part B – Questions asked in Part B will be based on the course opted by the candidate.
