After completing Class 12, one of the most common dilemmas students face is choosing the right academic path. However, students preferred courses are BTech and BBA. Both courses follow very different paths and open the doors to exciting career opportunities. BTech is technology-driven driven whereas BBA is focused on business.

BTech vs BBA: Program Overview

  • BTech (Bachelor of Technology) is a four-year degree with its focus on coding, engineering and upcoming technologies. Woxsen offers specialisations like AI, Data Science, Blockchain, robotics, and Cybersecurity. 
  • BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) is a three-year management programme with its focus on making the students understand how businesses function. Woxsens BBA offers exposure to real-world projects, internship opportunities, a global outlook and also has an incubation for start-ups. 

BTech vs BBA: Curriculum Comparison

  • The BTech Curriculum includes Core engineering subjects like Programming, Electronics, Physics and Mathematics. Along with this, it also offers Artificial Intelligence, IoT, Robotics and data science. The curriculum also includes hands-on learning in advanced labs and a chance to be a part of research projects and hackathons.
  • The BBA Curriculum includes Business Management, Economics, HR and Finance, along with offering global case-study learning (Harvard-style pedagogy). The focus is on entrepreneurship and leadership, which is achieved by the Trade Tower incubation setup for startups.  

Skills Developed

  • BTech students develop skills in various fields such as Coding, logical problem-solving, Innovation, Research, and Technical specialisation.
  • BBA students develop proficiency in Strategic thinking, decision-making, leadership, communication, and data interpretation.

BTech vs BBA Salary

BTech: As per the report 2021-2025 batch, the university records a strong placement drive. With a top of 20% average CTC of INR 12.2 LPA, overall average of INR 9.5 LPA and median of INR 8.5 LPA. Students are mostly placed in Data Scientist, Software Engineer, etc. A total of 48 companies were visited.

BBA: The BBA (Hons.) 2025 batch achieved a highest package of INR 10 LPA, an overall average of INR 7.6 LPA and a median of INR 7 LPA. A total of 40 companies were visited.

 

Career Scope

  • BTech Graduates can expect to have a career in IT, Data Science, Robotics, AI/ML, and Product development in global tech companies and startups. Students can also pursue higher courses such as MTech, MS, MBA.
  • BBA Graduates have a pathway to leadership roles in corporations and entrepreneurship. They can have careers in Management, Marketing, Finance, HR and Consulting. Some of the good higher studies options are MBA, Master's in Management, and CFA.

Which is Better: B.Tech or BBA?

This depends on interests and goals. If a student loves Tech, Coding, Maths, Machines, etc, and wants a career in Innovation, Technology or eEngineering, the BTech is the right choice. Aspirants will get the chance to work with Tech Giants like Microsoft and Google, along with having the chance to build a startup. 

If the student is fascinated by business and management and wants to see themselves strategising, leading teams, or building their own company, BBA is the right choice for them.

The total tuition fee for the Woxsen University BTech programme is INR 13.3 LPA. The hostel fee that the students must pay is INR 12.28 lakh. Students are also charged a one-time fee of INR 50,000. Pay the fee on time to avoid late fee submission charges.
