Types of Questions in CUET Exam: The Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG), conducted by the National Testing Agency, is the gateway for admission to over 250 universities across India. Candidates preparing for CUET UG 2027 must have a clear understanding of the exam pattern, syllabus, and subject-wise question types to perform well. As per the revised CUET exam pattern, the question paper will consist of objective-type (MCQ) questions, with 50 questions in each subject. The number of questions and exam duration remain uniform across all subjects, ensuring a standardised testing format. CUET UG scores are accepted by participating universities for admission to various undergraduate programmes.
The National Testing Agency will conduct CUET UG exam for undergraduate admissions in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. The exam dates for each subject will be shared by NTA on its official website. The CUET questions are objective in nature and carries four options also known as MCQs. Candidates will have to choose the correct answer option and click on it with the help of a mouse. Since CUET UG exam will be conducted in CBT mode, test-takers will be able to mark only one answer option.
Common University Entrance Test (CUET) sample papers are released by the conducting body, National Testing Agency (NTA). To download the CUET question papers follow the steps below:

UGC has announced the deletion of 26 subjects from CUET UG 2025 onwards. CUET UG 20 foreign languages and six domain subjects have been removed. Check the list below to know the name of the subjects:
- Foreign Languages (French, Spanish, German, Nepali, Persian, Italian, Arabic, Sindhi, Kashmiri, Konkani, Bodo, Dogri, Maithili, Manipuri, Santhali, Sanskrit, Tibetan, Japanese, Russian, Chinese)

CUET UG Language section will include 50 questions. Candidates must attempt all questions. There will be no optional questions.
The language section will check candidate's reading comprehension based on different types of passages. This section will also include questions from grammar. CUET UG Exam Structure
As per CUET UG exam pattern, the exam is divided into three sections: Language, Domain subjects and General Test. The exam duration for CUET UG is 60 minutes for each subject. Refer to table below to know the updated CUET exam pattern:

CUET Marking Scheme
As per the CUET marking scheme:
- For every correct answer, the candidate will get five marks
- For every wrong answer, one mark will be reduced
CUET Total Marks
As per the marking criteria and exam pattern for Common University Entrance Test, the CUET total marks that a candidate can obtain in a subject in the entrance test is 250 marks.
- For 3 subjects: 750 Marks
- For 4 subjects: 1000 Marks
- For 5 subjects: 1250 Marks

NTA prescribes the CUET UG marking scheme. Check below to know the CUET UG marking scheme:
- Correct answer or the most appropriate answer: Five marks (+5)
- Any incorrect option marked will be given minus one mark (-1).
- Unanswered/Marked for Review will be given no mark (0).
- If more than one option is found to be correct then Five marks (+5) will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options.
- If all options are found to be correct then Five marks (+5) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question.
- If none of the options is found correct or a question is found to be wrong or a question is dropped, then all candidates who have attempted the dropped question will be given five marks (+5) marks.

While filling the CUET application form, candidates can select up to five CUET subjects aligning with the subjects studied in class 12th and course requirements.

For DU and central universities, yes. UG admissions to B.Sc Biotechnology (Hons) at DU colleges are through CUET UG 2026. Many private universities do not need it. They use their own tests or your Class 12 marks. Check each college's admission page. Do not skip CUET if you want a government seat.

Check the notice before you rely on it. You must qualify JEE Main or CUET for UPTAC. A news report says only candidates with a valid JEE Main 2026 rank could register. The special rounds list CUET (UG) 2026 along with JEE Main. So CUET may help only in some rounds. JEE Main is the safe choice.
