Eight teams from law schools participated, presenting well-structured arguments that demonstrated their research skills, critical thinking, and advocacy abilities. ASBM University Successfully Inaugurates 2nd National Symposium on “Popular Literature in Cinema” 

June 6, 2025: The ASBM Centre for Theatre and Film in Education, in collaboration with ASBM School of Liberal Arts, successfully hosted the 2nd National Symposium on “Popular Literature in Cinema: Challenges & Triumphs in Literary Films” at the Central Auditorium of ASBM University. The symposium was inaugurated by the honourable Founder and President of ASBM University, Prof. Biswajeet Pattnayak. The grand inaugural session was graced by eminent personalities from the world of academia, literature, and cinema. Notable among them were Prof. Surjya Kumar Misra, Former Dean, BPUT & Film Director; Prof. Mrinal Chatterjee, Eminent Writer, Journalist & Director, IIMC Dhenkanal; and Shri Susant Misra, National Award-winning Actor & Film Director.

The event commenced with a floral welcome for the esteemed guests, followed by a soul-stirring performance of Bharat Geetika – An Ode to Mother India. The symposium was formally inaugurated shortly thereafter. Dr. Ananya Dash, Convenor, introduced the dignitaries, setting the stage for an intellectually enriching discussion. In his Welcome AddressProf. Ranjan Kumar Bal, Vice-Chancellor of ASBM University, extended heartfelt gratitude to the distinguished guests and attendees, emphasizing the university’s commitment to fostering dialogue on cinema and literature.

ASBM University Inks MOU With Blackbuck Education for Employability Skills

April 25, 2024: ASBM University, Bhubaneswar, and Blackbuck Education, Hyderabad, have inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to build the skills required for B.Tech. students to survive in the fast-changing industrial landscape. The MoU was signed by K. Mohan Menon, Director Blackbuck, and Air Commodore G. K. Patnaik, Registrar of ASBM University, in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Biswajeet Pattanayak, ASBM University's Founder and President. Since 2008, ASBM University's innovative Finishing School program has consistently resulted in 100% placement for MBA students. Beginning in 2024, ASBM University will offer a B.Tech. program in Computer Science and IT. Blackbuck Education will offer these students four years of industry-ready training.

The training based on AI and machine learning will cover essential technical skills in addition to communication and personality development it is specifically designed for the technology students to promote their employability by making them industry-ready. Through regular evaluations and analytical reports, students will have research opportunities, upskilling, and ultimately securing jobs. While Presiding over the function, Prof. Biswajeet Pattanayak founder and president of ASBM University has expressed confidence that this will enable the B.Tech. (Computer Science and IT) students of ASBM University to equip themselves with industry-ready skills that will help them for better employment.

Professor Smaraki was honored with the esteemed Teaching Excellence Award by Dr. Steve Parscel, ACBSP's Chief Accreditation Officer. 3rd National Law Symposium at ASBM University

March 26, 2024: ASBM University held its 3rd National Law Symposium on the theme "Public Interest Litigation & Social Justice: Issues and Challenges" at its campus. The Symposium commenced with the inauguration by the Chief Guest, Honourable Justice Shri Ananga Kumar Patnaik, Former Judge of the Supreme Court of India. Through real-life examples, he elucidated the impactful role of PIL in advancing social justice. Honourable Justice Subhasis Talapatra, Former Chief Justice of the High Court of Orissa, graced the event as the Guest of Honour and delivered the Keynote Address. Delving into legal history, he highlighted how PIL has catalyzed the enactment of crucial laws such as those pertaining to freedom from bonded labour and prevention of sexual harassment at the workplace.

Honourable Justice Bimal Prasad Das, Former Judge of the Orissa High Court & Chairman of OHRC, emphasized the significance of public interest litigation in advocating for social and public welfare. He stressed on PIL's role in amplifying the voices of the marginalized and implementing constitutional rights, thereby fostering social justice. The symposium was chaired by Prof (Dr) Biswajeet Pattanayak, Founder & President of ASBM University, who delivered the welcome address. The afternoon plenary session featured a spirited debate moderated by Prof Rangin Pallav Tripathy, Registrar of National Law University, Odisha, with participation from Shri Sitanshu Mohan Dwivedi, Chairman of the State Bar Council, Shri Bhakta Bhusan Barik, Member of the Bar Council of India, and Prof. (Dr.) Sukanta Kumar Nanda, Professor-cum-Principal of University Law College, Utkal University. Conference on International Management Hosted by ASBM University

March 13, 2024: The Bhubaneswar campus of ASBM University hosted the 9th International Management Conference (IMCon'24) with the theme "Responsible Business: Breakthrough to Excellence" recently.
Chief Guest Shri Radhashyam Mahapatro, Director (HR), NALCO, gave a speech to kick off the event. He spoke on creating a trustworthy environment that fosters growth and development and allows individuals to thrive in unison. Prof. Sok Uttara, Vice President of CamEd Business School, Cambodia, who gave the keynote address, gave examples of ethical businesses in the country that are involved in CSR initiatives. She also discussed how these businesses' long-term success is closely linked to the communities' well-being, which in turn promotes employee satisfaction and customer loyalty.

The topic of discussion for the distinguished guest, Professor Irina Leonova of Lobachevsky University in Russia, who specialises in international affairs, was the interconnectedness of business and society. Prof. Ranjan Kumar Bal, vice chancellor of ASBM University, delivered the welcome speech. The vote of gratitude was proposed by Dr. Barada Mohapatra, Senior Assistant Professor at ASBM University and IMCon-24 Convener. 

13th National HR Symposium at ASBM University

November 22, 2023: The ASBM University hosted the 13th National HR Symposium, "Global HR: Building Organisations of the Future," on November 18, 2023. Prem Singh, National President of the NHRDN and President of Group HR at the JK Organisation, gave it his inaugural address. 

In announcing the theme, ASBM University's Founder and President, Biswajeet Pattnayak, stated that technology is the primary driver of the fourth Industrial Revolution, or Industry 4.0. Smart manufacturing, smart people, and smart technology have presented HR managers with a number of issues. Creating a purpose, managing talent, developing HR tech ecosystems, and increasing change capability are the main challenges facing HR in order to shape the organization's future.  

An agreement between ASBM University and the National HRD Network to introduce a new Master's degree programme in Human Resource Management and Labour Relations was the event's main focal point. 

Dr Suvendu Das, MD, Hiteisee Consulting, chaired the technical session. Other distinguished speakers were Rosy Dash, HR Head, OPX-America Inc.; Dr Yusuf Ali Solanki, Head-HR, Emami Paper Mills Ltd.; and Shyam Sundar Choudhary, CHRO, TPCODL. The students and delegates engaged in a spirited question-and-answer period after the deliberations.

September 28, 2023: Shri Ram Nath Kovind, Hon'ble Former President of India, was the Chief Guest at the third convocation of ASBM University, with Shri P S Sreedharan Pillai, Hon'ble Governor of Goa, as the Guest of India.Former President Shri Ram Nath Kovind stated that it is heartening to watch this ancient city emerge as an educational powerhouse.
The foundation of ASBM University has given Odisha a new lease on life. This land is a repository of knowledge for all of humanity. The ASBM was erected in a record-breaking 180 days, which has translated to the academic brilliance that ASBM now provides. "The true sunrise in management education has just begun" , he stated. The ASBM history of excellence and innovation in education and research endures. He expressed his joy that ASBM University is involved in providing futuristic and holistic education on par with worldwide standards, with the goal of equipping our youth to face global competition and to contribute to India's transformation into a world leader. He reminded the pupils that it is critical to dream big and secure their life goals.
He stated that the founder of ASBM, Prof Biswajeet Pattanayak, has fulfilled the ultimate purpose of life by creating this university and paving the way for the education of young minds.In doing so, he has altered the lives of thousands of people, including their families. This is how a nation is built; by participating in the construction process, he has fulfilled his responsibilities to society and the country as a whole.

In his remarks, Guest of Honour Hon'ble Shri P S Sreedharan Pillai spoke on the ideals established through education. He stated that hard effort is the sole success slogan for the students. Prof Biswajeet Pattanayak, the founder and President of ASBM University, exhorted the graduating students to be passionate about their work while maintaining honesty and integrity. He urged the kids to try new things, to stand up for what they believe in, and to face the hardships of everyday life. The yearly report was presented by Vice Chancellor Ranjan Kumar Bal.
Honourary D.Litt degrees were conferred on Goa Governor Hon'ble Shri P S Sreedharan Pillai and the founder of Air Deccan Captain G R Gopinath during the convocation. The Chief Guest awarded gold medals for academic excellence to Samprit Raj Behera, Shivangi Pattanayak, Saddan Alam Khan, and Faiza Feroz.
The convocation was attended by invited guests, students, their parents, members of the University's Board of Governors and Academic Council, Trustees of the ASBM Trust, and academic and staff members.

Bar Council Recognises ASBM University School Of Law

December 6, 2021: The Bar Council of India has recognised the ASBM School of Law, which was created by ASBM University in Bhubaneswar. From the academic year 2022-23, ASBM University will offer two programmes, BA LLB (Hons) and BBA LLB (Hons), in response to market demand and employment opportunities. Both programmes will be five-year integrated programmes.

Prof. Biswajeet Pattanayak, the Founder and President of ASBM University, thanked the Bar Council of India for their approval. He stated that the university will make every effort to deliver high-quality legal education, and that the ASBM Finishing School will provide particular training to law students to help them develop their soft skills. He urged interested students to enrol in the ASBM School of Law after completing their class 12 in any subject for a promising legal career.

A good learning experience with helpful faculty, decent placements, and a peaceful campus.

Placements: I completed my MBA from ASBM University, Bhubaneswar, and it was a great experience. The faculty is supportive, the campus is peaceful, and the course is industry-focused. Around 80-90% of students got placed in top companies like ICICI, HDFC, Axis Bank, and ITC. Most students also secured internships with reputable companies. I improved my communication, leadership, and professional skills through workshops and events. Overall, ASBM helped me grow both personally and professionally.
