Banaras Hindu University is strict when it comes to the eligibility requirements of B.Ed. in Social Science and Humanities. The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/Humanities/Commerce with at least 50% marks in either of the degrees, or a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology with specialisation in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent. Additionally, the candidate must have studied at least one school subject at the graduation level or post-graduation as a main subject. The main subjects are those whose marks contribute to the aggregate in the final degree mark sheet, and the subjects must have been studied for at least 2 years in the graduation/post-graduation level. The issue of equivalence with respect to different degrees is determined by the Admission Committee of the Faculty of Education.
