Yashwantrao Chavan Institute of Social Science Studies and Research (YCISSR) does not offer a guaranteed 100% placement rate. The institute focuses on social sciences, with specialised programs like MBS and M.Phil in Social Work, leading to careers in research, social welfare, and non-profit sectors. While there is support for students through its placement activities, placements are not as widespread in corporate sectors. Graduates typically find positions in social work, research organizations, and public sector units rather than large corporations.

Admission to Yashwantrao Chavan Institute of Social Science Studies and Research (YCISSR) is not considered extremely difficult, but it involves a comprehensive selection process. For courses like the MBS (Master of Business Studies) and M.Phil in Social Work, the institute conducts its own entrance exam, followed by a Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). This multi-step process ensures that only candidates with the right academic background and aptitude for social sciences are selected. Therefore, while the admissions process is competitive, it is manageable for those who are well-prepared for these assessments. For Ph.D. admissions, candidates must meet the specific entrance requirements laid out by the University Grants Commission (UGC) norms.

Candidates are granted admission to the Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT offered at the Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (IHMCT) Maharashtra after passing the MAH HM CET (Maharashtra Hotel Management Common Entrance Test). This examination is administered by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra and is the only test that students have to sit for when they are willing to join any government or private hotel management college in the state. But few private IHMCTs have provisions to admit students on the basis of their 12th standard marks, if there are any vacant seats left after the counseling. The literacy levels expected of the candidates are usually 45% aggregate for standard 12th passed from a recognised education board and 40% for the candidates belonging to the reserved category. However, it is always good to refer to the particular institute's admission section, though, for the most part, MAH HM CET is the main route to BHMCT.

Yashwantrao Chavan Institute of Social Science Studies and Research (YCISSR) is a reputable institution, particularly in the fields of social sciences, with a focus on programs like MBS, M.Phil in Social Work, and Ph.D. The institute is part of the Bharati Vidyapeeth University system, which enhances its credibility and ensures quality education. Its curriculum is designed to provide in-depth knowledge and research-based skills in the social sciences. However, its primary focus is on research and social welfare, which means that placements may not be as robust in traditional corporate sectors but are more oriented towards the social work and public sectors. The institute has a dedicated faculty and good infrastructural support, including a networked computer lab, library with a wide range of academic resources, and hostel facilities. However, since the placements are more niche, students aiming for careers in social work, management, or research are better suited here. While it provides quality education in its specialised areas, it might not offer the same industry connections or corporate placements seen in other fields like engineering or commerce.
