B.Sc. in Animation and Multimedia - Batch of 2024

It is a great learning experience in Animation with skilled faculty and practical exposure.
Placements: The placement scenario for my batch is quite impressive. Around 80-90% of the students are successfully placed in reputed companies. Additionally, around 60-70% of students secured internships during their course. The highest package offered is approximately 20 LPA, while the lowest package is around 3.5 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure at the college is well-maintained and offers modern facilities. The Wi-Fi connectivity is reliable and accessible across the campus, including classrooms, labs, and the library. The classrooms are spacious and equipped with projectors for interactive learning. The labs are fully functional with the latest equipment, allowing students to gain practical experience. The library is well-stocked with a wide range of books, journals, and online resources, creating a productive environment for learning.
Faculty: The faculty members are highly qualified, experienced, and supportive. They are well-versed in their respective fields and provide clear explanations of complex topics. The teaching quality is excellent, with a good balance of theoretical and practical knowledge. Faculty members are approachable and encourage students to participate in discussions and projects.

A comprehensive review of my journey at BIT Noida: insights into B.Sc. Animation and Multimedia.
Placements: The placement services at BIT Noida were relatively effective. Many of my classmates, including me, secured internships and job offers through these initiatives, which was encouraging. Interns often work on projects like developing promotional videos, creating animation sequences for films, and designing characters for digital media. Roles include animation intern, graphic designer, video editor, motion graphic artist, UI/UX designer, and multimedia artist, often with stipends ranging from Rs. 7,000 to Rs. 20,000 per month.
Infrastructure: BIT Noida provides excellent infrastructure for the Animation and Multimedia program. The classrooms are equipped with modern audio-visual technology, enhancing the learning experience. The Noida campus does not have a hostel facility. The library offers a good selection of books and online resources, supporting our research and projects.
Faculty: The faculty at BIT Noida are generally knowledgeable and approachable, with many having industry experience that enriches our learning. The teaching quality varies, but most teachers employ practical methods that make concepts easier to grasp. The curriculum is highly relevant, incorporating the latest industry trends and technologies, which helps prepare students for real-world challenges. Semester exams can be challenging, requiring a solid understanding of the subject matter, but with adequate preparation, most students succeed. The pass percentage is typically high, reflecting the effectiveness of the program in equipping students for their careers.

Review for Birla Institute of Technology.
Placements: The placement percentage for this course is between 5% and 10%, with Beehives & Wasp being the top recruiting companies. The top roles offered are work-related. The highest package is 80,000 PA, the average package is 60,000 PA, and the lowest package is 20,000 PA. The internship percentage for this course is between 5% and 10%, with Beehives & Wasp being the top recruiting companies.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure for this course is not great. The Wi-Fi is spotty and unreliable, and the classrooms are not that great. On the plus side, the library is good. The quality of the facilities in the hostel is lacking, and the food in the mess and canteen is not that great. The medical facilities are also not that great, and the college doesn't offer much in the way of sports and games.
Faculty: The teachers are not helpful, and they may not be very well qualified. The teaching quality is not very good. The course curriculum is not very relevant, and it doesn't prepare students very well for the industry. The semester exams are not very difficult, and the pass percentage is only 60-65%.
Other: I enrolled in this course because I wanted to try it. If I like it, I'll continue, otherwise, I'll do something else. The best things about this course are that it allows me to be creative and learn new things. I wish they would improve the quality of the food in the mess and canteen, and provide better medical facilities. They could also put more focus on extracurricular activities like games and sports. Overall, this college is not too good in terms of events, fests, campus crowds, connectivity, campus surroundings, scholarships, and extracurricular activities.

Diverse learning opportunities exist, with room for improvement in faculty engagement.
Placements: I was part of the 2021–24 batch at BIT Noida, pursuing a B.Sc. in animation and multimedia. Some of the top recruiting companies for our course include Apollo 24*7, Wasp 3D, NDTV and many more reputed companies that are renowned for their industry presence and offer substantial career opportunities.
Infrastructure: The animation and multimedia department is occupied with state-of-the-art computer labs, featuring high-performance machines, studio, 2d lab and industry-standard software like Adobe Creative Suite, Autodesy Maya, blender and many more industry-level programs. These labs are available for students to work on their projects and assignments. Classrooms are well-designed, with comfortable seating and modern teaching aids such as projectors and smart boards. The department ensures that the learning environment is conducive to interactive and engaging sessions.
Faculty: Teachers were very helpful and always there to enhance your skills in every field. The only thing I want to address in college is to introduce more guest lectures from animation and multimedia industry professionals and workshops on emerging technologies.
Other: The program offers a broad range of subjects, from traditional animation and digital art to 3D modelling and visual effects, ensuring a well-rounded education. More opportunities for internships and industry interactions would help students gain real-world experience. More guest lectures from animation and multimedia industry professionals and workshops on emerging technologies would be beneficial. The college organizes various cultural and technical fests, providing a platform for students to showcase their talents and creativity. These events are a great way to network and collaborate with peers. There are numerous clubs and societies for students to join, catering to a wide range of interests, from art and design to sports and teaching. These activities help in the overall development of students and provide a break from academic rigour.

Graduate Animation Course Review.
Placements: We had 21 students in our batch, out of which I know about 3-5 of them being placed, most of them into the same company, which is in the business of live broadcasting graphics. Some got into UI/UX. Other than that, I am not aware of anyone placed in the animation for 2D and 3D industry. I don't have any knowledge of the package offered or their salary.
Infrastructure: The college has Wi-Fi, a library, and computer labs. We didn't have a single dedicated classroom and would sit in whichever room was free at that time. However, sitting down constantly would get pretty tiring, so it didn't cause many problems; you'd get used to it. You can issue books from the library for about a week with your issuing card, but not all can be issued and are to be read in the library itself, which consisted of almost all the books related to animation in this course. The practical labs are great in number but not in quality. Most of the PCs were either always being upgraded with software updates or were physically broken down in some way or another. Graphic cards not working, mice being faulty, or keyboard keys not working are some of the issues I faced in my studies and also in my practical exams. Additionally, during practical exams, the computer lab would almost always face power outages, which can affect your work very badly if you forgot to save it. Lastly, during my three years studying here, the college was always under renovation and construction, causing rubble to pile up on its premises. It was a sore sight. The canteen continuously kept increasing the prices of the food and also suffered structural damage while the college was undergoing renovation from falling debris. I have no knowledge about the hostel facilities as I did not avail myself of them. You can ask the faculty regarding it; they might be able to help you with that. I don't know about the quality and availability of medical facilities in the college. About sports, the college has some table tennis equipment on its premises, and some of my batchmates participated in sports meets. The Wi-Fi is okay, though you might lose the ability to connect if you sign in too many times or use the same ID on multiple devices.
Faculty: The faculty of this course consists of seven teachers. The teachers are helpful and easily approachable regarding any doubts or problems you're facing in your studies. Most of them are friendly. They are sufficiently knowledgeable, experienced, and masterful in their ability to teach their subject matters. Although I believe that the faculty could be expanded to include 2-3 more teachers, as a lot of similar and not-so-similar subjects are grouped together and taught by one teacher, which is not ideal. The course curriculum ranges from history, software usage, theories, and practical projects. You will work on and submit many projects from time to time during each semester, with a final project at the end of each semester. This approach helps make students industry-ready as freshers. However, I would suggest that the curriculum be constantly updated each year to reflect new and upcoming changes and challenges in the industry, particularly with the increasing usage of AI in this creative field. Regarding exams, each semester includes 2-3 short exams, 1 mid-semester exam, and 1 main exam as an end-semester exam. If required, there will also be practical exams. All of these are manageable, and you can pass them with flying colors if you prepare well enough.

College review of my perspective.
Placements: I am a passing student in the Animation field, and my opinion about this field is not good. They do have teachers, but the way of teaching is not effective; they will show you YouTube tutorials instead of providing real experience. The percentage of students getting an offer is very low, as they do not offer good jobs or internships.
Infrastructure: There are no hostel facilities at the college; you will need to find a nearby PG or flat, etc. There is no ground for the students to play, and there is no well-maintained sports room either. The table tennis area is the worst that a student will have to play, as this is the only sport available to play physically.
Faculty: Exams are held twice a year: mid-term and final. You may have class tests frequently to assess your knowledge level and how much you have gained overall from the course. The teachers are good and friendly; you can contact them anytime regarding any doubts, and they will resolve them.
Other: I always had an interest in animation, and I decided to select this college as it was suitable for me. The only thing I liked about it was the 3D subject; the only teacher who used to teach by himself and not through YouTube tutorials.
