Review for BIT Mesra, Ranchi, Jharkhand.
Placements: The placements are good. Decent companies are coming, and if you are good at practical work and maintain a decent CGPA, then you can get into a good company with a decent package. Also, last year the highest package was 1.45 crore per annum. The average package for CSE is 18 LPA-20 LPA.
Infrastructure: The hostel infra is decent, but for Wi-Fi, the LAN system is there. The college life is decent, and the campus is very large, with more than 800 acres, with forests and waterfalls surrounding it. The hostel life is also good here, with good infrastructure and facilities you can enjoy.
Faculty: The faculty is good, and the level of exams is decent. The teacher's explanation is good, and they make you prepare for the placement. Exams are of a good level to make you prepare. Practical knowledge is prioritised with good teaching and working on real projects.

BIT Mesra has the most beautiful campus.
Placements: BIT Mesra placements are superb, but for our branch, Chemical Engineering, they are quite low. The batch is small, and yet only 30–40 students find proper core placements, which is the sad part of our course. Many organic and chemical companies come for recruitment, but with very small requirements for our branch. For the rest of the branches, though, placements at BIT Mesra are excellent.
Infrastructure: Rivers, trees, and nature are what surround our campus. Our college has 14 hostels, including boys' and girls' hostels. The college hostels are quite decent. The gates and boundaries of the girls' hostels are such that they ensure proper security. The mess is indeed expensive, and our college campus has a grocery store too, to cater to the basic needs of the students. Our campus has vending machines, a shopping complex, and a night canteen too.
Faculty: Faculty is helpful, supportive, and friendly. These are the basic qualities of our faculty members, besides being doctorates. They also provide us with online study material and help us in every possible way. They also help us in exploring various career opportunities.
Other: We also have two fests, which are technical and cultural fests. Bitotsav is our cultural fest, while Pantheon is our tech fest.

Good professors and best crowd. Above-average placements although fees are higher.
Placements: For tech branches like CSE, AIML, and MnC, placements have been good this year. The lowest package offered so far is 4.8 LPA. The highest is 68 LPA. For other branches, I would say the placements were decent, not the best. The average is around 10 LPA combined for all branches. Also circuital branches have seen a drop in both average package and placement percentage, so only choose them if you are interested in studying circuital.
Infrastructure: Hostels are bad, like really bad. Although the classrooms and main academic building are good, and the campus and sports complex are good too. They could've still done better with hostel rooms and not cramming 2 people into a single-occupancy room. Could've also done with better toilets and better utilization of the massive campus, as some hostels are very far away from the main academic building.
Faculty: Teachers in every college are more or less similar. Professors here are helpful indeed, and what they are good at is making connections. If you stay good in class, get good marks, and impress the professor, he has great connections to send you to summer internships at IITs and IISc. All you have to do is be attentive in class and follow the professor. Exams are decent and are relatively graded instead of a percentage-based system. The course is good, although the 1st year might feel a bit unrelated to your course.
Other: Chill professors, grading is strict to an extent.

College is good, you can go with it.
Placements: 95 percent of students got placed this year. The top packages are 1.45 crore per annum and 1.09 crore per annum. The average package is 15 LPA- 18 LPA. The placements in the college are decent, with top recruiters including Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Google. Top roles are SDE and also some core engineering.
Infrastructure: Talking about the infrastructure, the college is very old. Hence the buildings that were made at the start are still in use. The infrastructure is not so good but the classrooms are well maintained with modern interiors. About the hostel, it is fine to use.
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified and have graduated from the top universities all around the world, such as IIT's, MIT, and many prestigious institutions. Some of the teachers are very helpful but some don't care. The institution's examinations are really tough.
Other: The EEE branch in which I'm currently enrolled is a good branch in terms of placements and also in terms of future opportunities. If you can, you should go with the college and the branch.

Before COVID, the college was more reputed.
Placements: On-campus placement is almost 70% for ECE. The rest go for off-campus opportunities and higher studies. The highest placement is 55 LPA. The lowest is 7 LPA. The top recruiters are Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, and Reliance. Around 50–60% of students get internships. The top core roles are VLSI Engineer and Silicon Engineer. The top tech roles are Software Engineer and Data Analyst.
Infrastructure: Labs and classrooms are excellent in ECE. Every required instrument is present. There is free Wi-Fi for all students. There is also a central library, which is quite big. All the classrooms, library, and labs have air conditioning. The hostel is not good at all. The rooms are very small. In the second year, the conditions become worse, especially for food in the mess and canteen. There is a big sports complex which contains all grounds and two gyms. There is also a dispensary where students can avail themselves of medical facilities for free.
Faculty: The curriculum is quite tough for ECE as compared to other branches. Professors are strict in ECE, but the teaching quality is good. For core-domain courses, the curriculum is relevant from an industry perspective. The semester exams are of a moderate level. As there is relative grading, it is not that tough to clear the relative grade.
Other: ECE allows me to sit for both tech and core companies as well, so I have enough domains to explore. Events and fests are organized on a large scale. Talking about scholarships, I received the GP Birla Scholarship because of my grades. It covers 100% of my tuition fees.

Placements: The placement of students in different branches varies a lot from branch to branch. But in circuital branches, on average, 75% of students are placed every year. Similarly, around 70% of students are placed from non-circuital branches. The top recruiting companies are DE Shaw, JPMorgan Chase, Oracle, etc. Around 50% of students get their internships through college. Many have got internships in these big companies. Many have also got internships in IITs for research purposes. The top roles are Software Development Engineer and Embedded Systems Engineer.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are very luxurious. They have four ACs in every class along with fans. The library is also very luxurious. It is really very big and contains a lot of books. The biggest disappointment for every student is the hostel facilities. The rooms are very small, not even sufficient for a single person, but we have to manage two people in a room. The second issue is that the mess food is very bad. The sports complex is also very good. It has different sections to play different sports. It also has a gym.
Faculty: Teachers mainly focus on completing their syllabus. They barely care about whether students are getting anything or not. But the mandatory attendance policy forces students to attend classes. The course curriculum makes students ready to sit for an interview. The exams are also at tough to moderate levels, but around 90% of students are able to pass the exams every year.
Other: The course attracts me because the ECE branch gives me the opportunity to be a part of both software-side and hardware-side roles in any company. Many students find ECE to be a tough branch, but for me, it basically requires more attention than any other branch. I think the professor-student interaction is not good in our college. It should be changed. Professors here are also too strict about the format of notebooks and attendance of students. The events, fests, campus crowd, and connectivity are good, but not the best.
