I have idea about BITS, Pilani. BITS, Pilani is one of a kind. The infrastructure, the curriculum is unmatched. The placements are awesome as well. BITS is completely student driven which a complete different experience. You will love it.

I think, you have heard wrong. BITS-Pilani has recognition by UGC. And, doing a course from BITS-Pilani or from European University depends on entirely from which European University you are doing with. If European University colleges has a go

If European University colleges has a good brand image go for that, otherwise BITS can be preferred.
