I rate it a solid 8.5 out of 10.
Placements: Around 50% of people get placed. The remaining 50% decide to start their businesses. Students also get internships in companies like Infosys and Midenious. My course offers roles like CA, HR Manager, and Accountant. Students also get jobs in companies like Amazon and Myntra.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is amazing. New buildings are being constructed. The library is also big, with four floors containing every book. The hostel, mess, sports, and medical facilities are amazing, except for the washrooms and canteen, which are a bit untidy. The washrooms are not cleaned properly, and the canteen does not care about hygiene, as they don't use good oil for preparing meals.
Faculty: Teachers are amazingly helpful and well-qualified. The college makes students industry-ready. Due to NEP 2020 and the multidisciplinary approach, students have to study subjects from every field. The exams are quite good, and 90% of students pass them easily, while 10% face backlogs because of their inconsistency.
Other: I am interested in management and accounting. The course would be more interesting if the additional subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Maths imposed due to NEP 2020 were removed. They disturb the focus on the core subjects of the course. Events, camps, and scholarships are amazing, and I love them.

M.Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering - Batch of 2026

A growing technical program with strong academics and affordable education.
Placements: I am studying M.Tech in computer science and engineering at Central University of Kashmir and will be graduating in 2026. Placements here are still in the process of growing. Some of our batch-mates have gotten placements, the best of which is 1.5 LPA, currently. This is perhaps small compared to other places, but it's a good beginning for an expanding technical course. With better industry connections and alumni patronage, the university stands to enhance placement records in the next few years.
Infrastructure: The Central University of Kashmir's M.Tech in computer science and engineering provides a quality academic experience. The course organization is organized with cooperative faculty members. Labs are well-equipped and well-maintained, and the campus has Wi-Fi connectivity, facilitating the flow of information for students and helping them access resources easily. Hostel facilities are comfortable, clean, and have a pleasant study environment. It deserves a 5-star rating. Classrooms are decent and functional, worthy of a 4 out of 5. Overall, good place for dedicated learning.
Faculty: Central University of Kashmir M.Tech CSE faculty is primarily cooperative and qualified with good control over their fields. The quality of teaching is good, particularly in technical subjects, but some professors might use more contemporary methods. The curriculum is applicable and deals with relevant industry topics, but the student might have to do more in order to be absolutely industry-ready. Semester exams are moderately difficult and concept-oriented. The overall pass rate is about 80%-85%, which makes the course easy to handle with regular effort.

The college, where you are your own master.
Placements: The Central University Media Studies department may not have been well-furnished at the moment, but improvements were expected in the coming years. If you had a strong interest in academics, please don't hesitated to apply. Regarding job placements, your success largely depended on your own skills. The department offered opportunities for internships, but keep in mind that these internships typically lasted for only one month.
Infrastructure: You had access to several facilities, including a reading room, library, Wi-Fi, camera operations, filmmaking resources, and community radio. While there was no hostel facility on campus, this was not a major concern since there were many private hostels nearby that were very affordable. Additionally, there were several canteens outside the university, and the food they offered was quite good. The university also provided medical facilities at no cost to students. Each year, the college organized a sports competition, which featured events such as cricket or football.
Faculty: Teachers were highly qualified, friendly, and supportive. To pass, you needed to score at least 30 marks on each paper. Exams were not particularly difficult if you paid attention in class. The key to success was to make notes, revise regularly, and stay focused. You had at least three tests each month, and if you performed well in these tests, you didn't need to worry too much about the final exam, as you had already covered the syllabus through the class tests.
Other: If you believed you had stories to share and a keen interest in news, then this course was for you. It was important to develop a variety of skills, such as video editing, filming, and text editing. If you came from an underrepresented community, you were eligible for scholarships. At the university, you also had many opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities.

It is good, but the infrastructure should be improved. The faculty is really good.
Placements: For B.Tech, there are placements. One of our fellow mates got placed and that too as a network engineer with a package of 2.5 LPA. Others that got selected by those companies mostly took MBA students for hiring. Some of them are conglomerate, but I think they were fake ones.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is not working most of the time. Classrooms are good. The library does not have much content. The campus area is not that much but it is getting increased day by day. Facilities are also made available now. Otherwise, it is a good college. A little improvement is needed.
Faculty: Semester exams are hard. Teachers are too good and highly qualified. It does not make students industry-ready. They should improve placements for B.Tech students. The HR department is good. It is the worst. Bus services are very less.
Other: Its an average college, but it is developing. In some years, it would be great.

Good Teaching Faculty, etc.
Placements: There are hardly any placements from companies in this college. Most of the students have to rely on their own for finding a job elsewhere. However, it has been proven that most of the students got their jobs later from alternative sources like LinkedIn and other hiring platforms.
Infrastructure: There are many classrooms on the campus, and most of them are in good condition. This college has many labs, such as Chemistry and Physics labs, and most importantly, the computer lab. The Wi-Fi in the CSE department is pretty solid, with speeds reaching up to 30 Mbps. This college also provides a library which contains most of the books you require for your course. However, this college doesn't provide any hostels, but there are third-party ones usually located 1-2 km away from the college.
Faculty: The faculty is pretty decent in this college. They help the students when they are in need of something, especially the Dean. The teachers are good because they make you do tasks that help your brain learn. This is a point that supports the teaching quality. The exams are pretty easy if you have learned everything and your concepts are clear. In a semester, there are usually three exams: two exams are of 15 marks, and the last exam is for 50 marks.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to learn about CS and have an interest in it. The course is perfect because I get everything I expect from the teachers. Sometimes there are some festivals, like Diwali and Onam, and recently, a fest was also organized.

Not very satisfied with the college and it can do more to improve. Thank you.
Placements: So I am pursuing my degree in commerce at Islamia College of Science and Commerce, Hawal Srinagar. The commerce stream has the most students in our college compared to other streams. So for the internship, the college doesn't provide you the allotment but instead you yourself have to find an internship, which is mandatory in your final semester as it contains marks.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are pretty big and good. The library is also good and the department of commerce isn't that good as compared to other departments in the college. The hostels are also available. The canteen has a limited variety of food, so I prefer to bring lunch from home. For medical facilities, a dispensary is also available and you can play games in the ground.
Faculty: Each teacher is different; some teachers are really good at their job but some are not. In our semester-end exam, we need a 75% attendance rate; then we have to give term exams and if we qualify for term exams then only we are allowed to sit for final exams; after that you have to give internals for the commerce department.
Other: I chose this course to learn more about commerce, which I think is best because it provides you with vast information. They should give relation in terms of exams as we are under pressure all the time. Events and fests do happen. Scholarships are not given.
