CUET UG Top 10 Subjects: Candidates preparing for the Common University Entrance Test for admission to undergraduate courses for the academic session 2026-2027 have to opt for CUET UG subjects in the application form. Applicants can select up to five CUET subjects from 13 languages, 23 domain subjects, and a general aptitude test to complete the registration process. Only candidates who submitted online form by last date will be able to appear for CUET 2026.
As colleges accepting CUET scores will offer admission based on their CUET eligibility criteria and CUET subject combination, candidates need to make the decision carefully. If a candidate does not appear for the subject required by the target university for the desired CUET UG course, he/she will not be able to apply for admission to that university. From CUET UG 2026 onwards, candidates can now choose for five CUET subjects. Earlier, the subject choices were six. With the rediuction in number of CUET subjects, the choices have been reduced. Candidates can opt for five subjects from 23 domain subjects of any stream irrespective of subjects studied in class 12th.
Go on the official website of university/organaisation. Check the courses offered and eligibility test that they should appear in for admission to desired course. The choice of language/domain subject and General test will depend upon the course and university. Candidates will be able to opt for one or more tests as per the requirement of the course and university from the following sections:
- Section I - 13 Languages
- Section II - 23 Domain Specific Subjects
- Section III - General Test
Yes, OBC candidates applying for CUET must upload the OBC-NCL certificate in online CUET application form. The OBC-NCL certificate must be issued in consonance with the latest guidelines of the Government of India. If candidate fail to upload the OBC-NCL certificate (issued on or after 01 April, 2024) at the time of CUET 2025 registration, then in such case they will have to upload a declaration in lieu of OBC-NCl certificate to that effect.
Candidates belonging to reserved categories are admitted under the seats reserved for them in accordance with the rules prescribed by Government of India. However, in the case of central universities admission, the reservation criteria of the respective university shall be applicable.
Candidates can apply for CUET score accepting colleges through CUET UG 2026 application form. While filling the application form, candidates will be required to enter the name of the preffered universities and courses in order of preference. On declaration of the CUET results, the scores will be shared with the universities for which candidate has applied. Basis on the score obtained candidate will be shortlisted for the applied course.

CUET subjects like English, General Aptitude Test, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and Biology, have been in the top six CUET UG subjects from the past three years. However, since CUET 2024 and 2025, Economics has ranked seventh in the top 10 subjects in CUET. Hindi, on the other hand, which used to be under the top 10 subjects until 2024, is not on the list, moving Business Studies and Accountancy to rank 8 and 9, respectively. Additionally, for the first time in the past three years, Political Science has made it to the top 10 subjects.
Candidates must also note that due to low student registrations in some subjects, the UGC Chairman, Jagadesh Kumar, removed six CUET domain subjects in the last academic session (2025-2026). The removed CUET subjects include Entrepreneurship, Teaching Aptitude, Fashion Studies, Tourism, Legal Studies, and Engineering Graphics. However, CUET colleges offer admission for these subjects based on CUET General Test scores.

For admission in Universities through CUET UG 2026, the policies regarding quota, category, relaxation, reservations, qualification, subject combinations, preferences etc of the respective University / Institution shall be applicable. For appearing in CUET exam there is no age limit, however, candidates must check the age criteria (if any) prescribed the university in which candidate is desirous of taking admission.
As the CUET eligibility criteria for admission may be unique for every University, the candidates are advised to visit the University website to which they are applying for their respective course and check the subject mapping criteria and age criteria.
National Testing Agency (NTA) released the CUET UG 2026 application form at cuet.nta.nic.in. The registration window has been closed. Yes, it is possible to appear for CUET UG and get admission in college even if candidate gets a compartment in class 12th. However, such candidates will be given provisional admission in colleges. Students must make sure to appear for the compartment exam at given schedule and clear the examination and submit the required documents for verification at college on or before the last date.

CUET 2026 Most Opted Subjects
National Testing Agency will share the complete statistics of subject-wise number of registration received, number of students who appeared for that subject and highest NTA score for each subject. Once released the same will be shared on this page. However, if we consider previous years' trends and top-most requirement of universities, CUET English is expected to be the most opted subject for CUET 2026 also.
About CUET Exam
CUET is a national level entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency for admission to undergraduate courses at CUET participating central, state, government, private, and deemed universities across India. More than 200 universities provide admission through CUET UG. The CUET 2026 exam will be conducted in CBT (Computer Based Test) mode only. The candidates will be able to select up to five subjects, including one language, three or four domain subjects, and a general aptitude test. From 2025, candidates are given the flexibility of selecting subjects irrespective of their subjects in Class 12th.
NTA will release the CUET 2026 date sheet on its official website, cuet.nta.nic.in.

Yes absolutely. CUET is required only for Delhi University colleges. Most private B.Com colleges in Delhi NCR like Amity, Sharda, Bennett, and GD Goenka either conduct their own simple entrance test or offer direct admission based on your 12th marks — so CUET is not the only route.

No, SAGE University, Bhopal does not mention CUET-UG as an alternative to SEE for BBA admissions. Thus, candidates who have a valid score of CUET-UG are still required to appear in the SEE to qualify for BBA admissions at SAGE University, Bhopal.

No, CUET is not compulsory for admissions in the institute. The UG admissions are based on Class 12 marks. Students have to fill the application form on the Rajasthan University official website. The university allocates seats in all courses on the basis of merit scores.
