Good opportunity to get enrolled in one of the central universities for a UG course.
Placements: You'll be having internships during the 6th semester and also during the 8th semester, you have to complete 6 months of internships. Moreover, they're giving the opportunity to teach by selecting a number of students from each batch for the project called Thrive under Kyla Gok, for which they will be paid for each session.
Infrastructure: We do have a Wi-Fi facility with each student having a user ID and password. Labs have been maintained for the B.Sc. stream. Classrooms are provided with seating 50 students. There are canteens and cafes inside the campus and also it has a store that has stationary items and printing facilities. There is a mess for both girls and boys which is a privatized mess by Food Sutra, weekly 2 times they offer chicken at night. There is the Aravalli Health Centre of CUK with two doctors. Sports and games are not much concerned even though we have sports meet Urja once a year.
Faculty: As ITEP is a newly introduced course, it has its own difficulties initially but when compared to other universities and colleges that provide. Central University of Kerala can be considered as a good option because it's more effective than the other. There are permanent faculty members appointed in B.Sc. course and each course have permanent course coordinators.
Other: It's a new course and the major attraction is a dual degree within 4 years a UG degree and a B.Ed degree. According to the NEP2020, the minimum qualification to be a teacher is this degree with a B.Ed. Mostly English gets the most applications in our college and 25 students are selected for each course except B.Com which is 50 seats. There are college events conducted by the council, CUK body, different organizations, and departments. There is an arts festival once a year.

B.A. in International Relations - Batch of 2024

Our college has great faculty members and a huge campus.
Placements: Only through CUET examination, we get admission to Central University of Kerala (CUK). Now, it's a 3-year B.A. program. From 2024 onward, they will add integrated M.A. international relations. Many top companies recruit students from our university. Almost 70% to 80% of students get internship opportunities. With this course, we have the opportunity to build a foundation for civil service exam preparation and to identify new emerging job opportunities.
Infrastructure: Free Wi-Fi is available in the hostel and college. Classrooms are well maintained. There is a huge library with lots of references for our studies and ideas. Two or three people can stay in one room. Rooms are big, with attached bathrooms. We have a table tennis court, an admin court, a football field, and so on.
Faculty: Teachers have doctorates. They have more than 10 years of experience. They are academically brilliant. They are also good at teaching. They emotionally support all students. The course curriculum is beneficial for students who are referring to a future in the fields of civil service, diplomacy, teaching, etc. Exams are quite difficult. If you manage to study, they will not be problematic. The pass percentage is above 50%.
Other: I chose this course mainly because I have an interest in it. It provides every social science subject in the curriculum except economics. They must include some economic fundamentals. The college conducts certain fests like KA Kama, sports fest, cultural fest, freshers' day, ethnic day, etc. The campus is about 300 acres wide. It has a good ambiance. Sports are encouraged. We have a university team for every sport.

Good infrastructure and standard course syllabus.
Placements: The department has no dedicated placement cell as more than 90 percent of the students opt for higher studies in various universities across the world. The department provides internships in different institutions in the field of international relations.
Infrastructure: The campus is located at the heart of Trivandrum city. The campus has Wi-Fi, a library and is accessible through public transportation at all times. The classrooms are well-facilitated with projectors and amenities. Hostels are separately located for boys and girls at nearby locations which are well-guarded and facilitated. Wi-Fi is also provided in the hostel.
Faculty: The course syllabus is one of the best in class. The course is relevant and up-to-date with the industry standards. Continuous presentations and project submissions make the students competitive in the market. The course syllabus is a very descriptive one which is equivalent to many Master's degrees in the country.

Central University of Kerala, Capital Center TVM.
Placements: Nobody in this college even the head of the department can give you a specific answer to these questions. Taking B.A graduation from CUK and then joining private sector colleges like OP Jindal, can assure you with placements but if you continue studying in CUK, then your chances of success are also less.
Infrastructure: Capital Centre in Trivandrum has the worst campus in the country. The department doesn't even have a building of their own. The campus runs on a rented building, and the conditions are same with the hostels too. The students are not provided with food from the hostel.
Faculty: The faculty members in the Capital Centre department are not permanent. They are working on the contract basis. I joined the department because the course was interesting. In fact, it is a very nice course, but after joining the department, we have no idea about the things going on here.
Other: CUK campus in Kasargod is not like that of Trivandrum branch. It has a nice campus with good facilities.

Review of the only UG Dept. of International Relations.
Placements: Most of us are doing our PG. Even our seniors too. We also did an internship in United Nations University Regional Centre for Expertise. (UNURCE). I am now placed in UNURCE as a campus coordinator and also as project coordinator of 'Carbon Free Campus' project funded by KPSCE.
Infrastructure: The campus is a two floored, well-furnished campus, which is a rented building. Capital Centre is not having a permanent building. The campus is exclusively for the department of international relations and for the chair of Kerala studies. It has toilets on both the floors separate for girls and boys. It also has a library with more than 1500 books. It is a 20 cents plot. The campus has a badminton court too. There is no canteen and also no Wi-Fi facility, though there is a computer lab inside the library with more than 10 computers. There is no permanent hostel, since it is a rented building. The hostel provided is luxurious with well-built room and clean toilets. The furniture provided in the hostel is of poor quality.
Faculty: The faculty members in the department are well-qualified with NET and most of them with PhD. The department follows a peer education process. The faculty members are also very friendly and teach without pressurizing to an extent. But the department has only one permanent staff member, who is the head of the department incharge. The department does not have a permanent HOD. The course of the only UG course in India for International Relations, Dept of International Relations of Central University of Kerala is very helpful for civil service preparation as the course is multidisciplinary and civil service oriented.
Other: The department frequently conducts many academic programmes such as Model United Nations and Mock Parliament and it also conducted a workshop in Research Methodology, which no other department for UG ever conducts. Also, the university or the department is very keen on the students' extra curricular activities and allows and indulges in letting the students participate in seminars and research paper writing. The department conducts weekly quiz, seminar and film screening, exclusively for the students of the deparment.

Review of Central University of Kerala.
Placements: I am part of the first batch of integrated B.A. B.Ed. students at Central University of Kerala. Currently, the second batch is also here. The NTA conducts the NCET exam, and the scorecard has been published. This program requires dual degree students to have above-average marks. From the applicants, students with higher marks and those from EWS and other reserved categories are selected for admission. Regarding the package, the semester fee varies for each student. The total four-year fee is approximately 2 lakhs. For MBA and M.Com, which are business courses, campus interviews and placements are available.
Infrastructure: The college has a dedicated department building and separate classrooms with good infrastructure. There is a good library with books related to various subjects. Itep students have their hostel named Kabani and a common mess for boys and girls separately. The mess is managed by a private company that provides average-quality food. The sports meet is called Urja, and other games are also organized.
Faculty: All teachers hold Ph.D. degrees and are experienced. They are permanent faculty members. The course curriculum is relevant and includes extensive knowledge, seminars, assignments, learner-centric activities, and student internship programs. Semester exams are of average difficulty, with questions prepared and evaluated by our own teachers. Grades are assigned based on overall student performance, including seminars, assignments, and written exams. A minimum of 50% is required to pass.
Other: I chose this course because it offers a dual degree within four years, and the certificate has more value than those from typical government colleges. This course builds students' confidence and helps develop leadership qualities. There are only 150 students per batch. Other campus programs are very nice.
