BTech course contains 8 semesters and each semester is of 6 months. Within a semester students have to give 3 internals and a external exam.And from those 3 internal exams best of two will be taken so if you misses in just one internal then it's fine as you can cover it in two other attempts. In case you misse two or three of them this will affect your accademic result (CGPA) may be you have to give the exam again which also said as backlog.
