The university is mostly for the kids who couldnt score that well in JEE and dont get their dream college or their dream branch in a specific college of their choice. So youll find more than a thousand students with relatively similar score in JEE. According to me the reputation isnt that good. :)
Curriculum: They level of education is really good! Coming from a govt. college I can surely say that the teachers are strict, labs are better and theyll teach you pretty well. On the other hand in my college(which is highly reputed), the education level is not that good.( trust me on this ).
Environment and exposure: well this matters the most. The environment isnt that good in Chitkara. Most of the students are non-serious about education and yes youll definitely find some good brains but mostly they dont really put that much effort in studying. By no means Im blaming kids but thats what I know about Chitkara. Generally youll not find kids discussing about subjects unlike in IITs.
Fee: pretty expensive Ill say. But Its okay.
Travel: If you are not taking the hostel, youll travel a lot everyday. Its in middle of no where.
Placements: Dont go on their brochure for placements. You should know that almost 800 students pursue CS every year there and not all of them are placed. Its a myth! If you outshine others, Youll get placed no matter which college.
So yeah, Its not a bad college if you are very serious about studying or youll just end up wasting your 4 years.
In a nutshell what matters is how much are you willing to learn. College will only give you a platform to perform :)

Hello there, Now this is a pretty interesting comparison because all these universities have their own strengths, but if I'm speaking from experience and what I've personally felt about LPU, it genuinely holds its own and even shines in many aspects. What makes LPU special is how dynamic and future-focused the entire system is. Whether it's the CSE department or courses in management, agriculture, design, or even liberal arts, LPU offers a really balanced mix of academics, hands-on learning, and global exposure. The infrastructure is absolutely next level—smart classrooms, advanced labs, innovation studios—and the diversity on campus is something you won't find everywhere. You're learning with people from all over India and more than 40 countries. In comparison, DU is very academic but lacks the tech infrastructure and placement support that private universities offer. VIT, SRM, and Amritha are definitely solid names, but LPU's industry connections, entrepreneurship cell, and international tie-ups really give you a broader platform. Compared to Thapar and Pilani, which are quite selective and great for deep technical learning, LPU focuses on a more holistic approach—so whether you're good at coding, communication, or creativity, you'll find your space to shine here. Plus, the placement record just keeps getting better every year.I hope this helps.

Being a student at Chitkara University, I can say from personal experience and with complete clarity that Chitkara University is one of the best institutions you could choose. Chitkara university has a superb combination of individuals coming together from all over the country, one of the top Infrastructures among its rivals. If we talk about the faculty at Chitkara University, then I must say that you need not worry about anything because Chitkara provides you with a team of experts Ph.D. holders) whose teaching style is really very good. Chitkara University offers various courses across various domains, and the atmosphere here is really very friendly and jovial. The top labs, which are regularly updated, are found at Chitkara. If we are talking about a student's entire growth, Chitkara University is extremely concerned about this since it offers you a variety of self-improvement groups and societies like E-cell, tech, and others. A well-stocked Sportorium and gym enable you to maintain your fitness while also fostering a sense of community. As the institution is demanding about the level that you maintain, you must put in a lot of effort and maintain at least 75% attendance, which might be challenging at first but ultimately benefits you.

Both Chitkara University and Chandigarh University (CU) offer solid BE in Computer Science Engineering programs, but Chandigarh University generally edges ahead due to its stronger placement record-with nearly 100% placement in CSE and average packages around 7 LPA-as well as its extensive infrastructure and proximity to the IT hub of Chandigarh, which provides better industry exposure and internship opportunities. Chitkara University, located in Solan, also has a good curriculum with strong industry collaborations and decent placements, making it a good choice for students seeking a focused academic environment. However, if you prioritize higher placement rates, a vibrant campus life, and access to a wider range of recruiters, Chandigarh University is typically considered the better option for CSE.
