School of Engineering and Technology, CMR University conducts an entrance exam to select candidates for PhD course. Candidates with M.Phil degree from a recognised university are exempted from taking the entrance examination, if the degree has been obtained on or after July 11, 2009. Selected candidates are further called for a personal interview round. 

School of Economics and Commerce, CMR University admission to PhD programme is based on an entrance test conducted by the university.
