Desh Bhagat University admission criteria is a blend of merit and entrance basis depending on the programme. Candidates need to fulfil the preset criteria to get into the university. DBU offers a BCom programme with multiple exit options. Tabulated below is the point of time of exit and the corresponding degree:

• The students who complete one year and leave the programme will be awarded a Certificate in Commerce
• The students who complete two years/four semesters and leave the programme will be awarded a Diploma in Commerce.
• The students who successfully complete three years/six semesters and leave the programme will be awarded a BCom degree
• An option is given to the students to continue their education to the Fourth year and those who successfully complete four years/eight semesters will be awarded a BCom (Hons) degree

Admissions to Desh Bhagat University, Punjab are based on:

·       The merit on qualifying marks only

·       The merit on academic marks plus entrance test marks

B.Tech admissions are done through an entrance exam held by the university itself.The university welcomes applications from international students as well. Students with high scores in JEE exams can get an exemption from the B.Tech entrance exam. The application fee for B.Tech is Rs 500 and admissions typically begin in the last week of May.
