A good course to pursue as an alternative of MBBS.

Placements: I am currently a 1st year student in a pharmacy course at Dibrugargh University. Based on past placement records and what I heard from my seniors, I can say that the placements are not so good. In the past, there were some companies that used to come to our department for placements but now a days its very few, or we can say that there are no companies that have come for placements in recent years.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very good. On campus, we have Wi-Fi, labs are well-equipped, and some of the classrooms also have smart boards, while others have whiteboards and projectors for presentations. We have a big central library, which consists of a lot of books. We have five canteens other than the hostel mess on our campus. The food in the mess is not good but the canteens have good food at an affordable price. We also have health center and almost all the sports which include badminton, volleyball, basketball, etc.

Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified and have deep knowledge about the course. If you want to learn, they are happy to help you with your questions. We have two sessional exams and a final exam at the end of the semester. If we just give you 1-2 hours daily for your studies, you can get very good marks in the exam.

Other: I think they can get us some information in terms of attendance. Other things are good.

Overall our college is quite good and affordable .

Placements: About 50 students are given admission in our course and above 85% in HS. The highest package is INR 47000 per year and the lowest is in the State category. Not many recruiting companies come to our dept. for jobs. Top roles offered is of Drug Inspector and pharmacist.

Infrastructure: There is Wi-Fi system in our dept. and facility of labs and classrooms are there for every semester and for each subject. There are facilities of sports and games. There is an indoor stadium and two playgrounds. The food quality of the mess is quite good but there is no facility of inverter during electricity cut.

Faculty: Yes, the teachers are very helpful and qualified. The teaching quality is quite good. Yes, this course makes the students industry ready. The semester exams are quite hard and there are 2 mid semester exams . The pass percentage is almost 80% and sometimes above.

Hostel facilities are very good.

Placements: The course provides very promising career options though it is in its developmental stage. In the Northeastern area, due to fewer industrial setups, it is quite hard to find a dream job in this field. This course opens up to a vast range of career options both in industrial and co-operate sectors in manufacturing, vigilance and marketing field. Top roles offered are pharmacovigilance, QA or QC executive, medical writer, drug inspector and R&D scientist.

Infrastructure: Classrooms, library and laboratories have the basic required infrastructure facilities, but some updation should be done. Hostel and medical facilities are excellent as compared to other government colleges. All the hostels have Wi-Fi facilities. Mess and canteens maintain the hygiene protocol, and the quality of the food served is good. The hostel campus has a very pleasant ambience.

Faculty: Faculty members are helpful. All the professors are highly qualified, and teaching quality is good and useful. The CBCS curriculum is followed, and evaluation is done on that basis. This profession requires technical and practical preparedness, so students understand the profession better when they are exposed to the real workplace setup. Otherwise, students are prepared to tackle the upcoming in their future career.

Other: This course has prosperous career options, and I have an interest in medicinal preparation. These are the two major reasons to choose this career. Rather than improvement in the course curriculum, society needs to make students aware of the benefits of the pharmacy profession, their role and also clear the misconception some people have regarding this profession. The government should take the required steps and make investments in the research and manufacturing sectors. We have events like seminars on very crucial topics related to this profession, modern techniques and technologies applied in manufacturing purpose. We have an NPW week organisation in a very grand way.

It is a good institution for pharmacy education.

Placements: Bachelor of pharmacy course with theory and practicals is provided in accordance with the syllabus prepared by PCI. Campus interviews are held every year.

Infrastructure: Hostels are well-maintained with proper sanitation facilities. Food is good and prepared with a high degree of cleanliness by competent staff members. There is a proper health care centre with an ambulance available for emergencies. Varsity week is celebrated as a week-long affair.

Faculty: The course of study is in accordance with the PCI, which is the same throughout the country. Every batch is sent for industrial training to prepare them for industrial life. Overall, it is a good government institution for students interested in pursuing a career in pharmacy.

Other: Extracurricular activities like sports, cultural programmes and festivals are celebrated.

Overall, it is a good place for students who are willing to study B.Pharma.

Placements: Our college does not provide placements. About 40 students from our course got placed every year. The number of students get jobs is very less. Departments need to approach more companies to hire students. Even if jobs are offered, the salary package offered is very less.

Infrastructure: Our department has a good infrastructure, and the buildings are beautiful. The library is good, and it has a good environment to study. The canteen has a huge area which can accommodate at least 100 or 150 students. Classrooms are huge, good and spacious. Hostels facilities are good, but I am a day scholar.

Faculty: Teachers here are very knowledgeable as they have good knowledge of every field related to the course. They are always ready to help every student whenever they are in need. They are very friendly and also strict. They always give time to students.

Other: B.Pharma and MBBS are similar to each other. This course provides us with useful knowledge about medicines, patient counselling, etc.

I am satisfied, but I think more improvement is required.

Placements: Placements in our college are very low, and around 10% of the students got placed from this institution. The highest salary package offered varies from 2 LPA to 5 LPA. Top recruiters of our college are Torrent Pharmaceuticals and Ajanta. The salary package offered is very low. Top roles offered are drug inspector, professor and pharmacovigilance.

Infrastructure: Overall, it has good infrastructure and facilities, and the library and many labs are available here. Our college has computer labs and many other extravaganzas.

Faculty: Teachers are qualified, and they teach us and provide a good path to follow. The course is extremely relevant to hospital internship and industry training. They teach us labs to do experiments.

Other: I opted for this course because it has numerous opportunities. The campus placements are less, and I wish they should provide more opportunities for all students. They should improve the exam criteria, which is only subjective because objective skills are required as well.
