Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) - Batch of 2028
Offered by Tinsukia College
4.8

It's really good to study here so I recommend others to join our college.
Placements: At Tinsukia College, placement opportunities vary significantly depending on the course. In terms of internships approximately 10-20 percent of students get internship opportunities during their course. Overall Tinsukia College provides some exposure to placement and internships but students often need to rely on self-effort and skill development opportunities for better career prospects.
Infrastructure: Our department has Wi-Fi facilities and is also the second-best department of the college and it even has practical equipment for the students so students can easily do their practical. The quality of the hostel food is excellent and our hostel provides water filters, fans, etc.
Faculty: Our teachers are very helpful. If we need any assistance, our practical teachers help us without any questions, and our teachers are very knowledgeable and give us a good quality education. The course curriculum is relevant and it makes students industry-ready.
Other: There is nothing to improve in our course because it is already good so I don't have any wish to change it.

B.Sc. (Hons.) in Botany - Batch of 2025
Offered by Dibru College
4.4

Good infrastructure with a library and very experienced teachers.
Placements: About like 30 students from the 2021-25 batch got placement, the rest were doing other jobs like a clerk, teachers, or pursuing a master's or working as a manager in a bank. I am thinking of pursuing a Master's. About the internship, several of my seniors did an internship at Dibrugarh University and Tezpur University for a learning experience. I am also taking a keen interest in Pharmaceutical Science which provides a rather interesting job.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not good enough for a Bachelor's degree. About the hostel, it doesn't provide a hostel most students live at rent, or PG. My house is near, so it is not a problem for me.
Faculty: The teachers are extremely helpful in giving directions about the topics that we need to study. The current curriculum is very relevant at least for now, because most students are choosing Zoology over Botany, resulting in fewer botany experts in medicine and research faculty. The teachers are really skilled at teaching and sometimes use a projector for teaching. They are both knowledgeable and experienced in their field.
Other: The reason I took botany is that I like plants and am very curious about them especially about mushrooms. Not that many things need to improve about the course. Events and fests are not that interesting as they have a pretty small hall for hosting events. It has many extracurricular activities like recently we did wall magazines, and now we are preparing for a cultural event.

B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2029
Offered by Jorhat Engineering College
3.6
3Placements3Infrastructure4Faculty4Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
The college is good. If we say the Computer Science department is one of the best.
Placements: The amount of recruitment is okay, but it should be improved, as it is not the top notch because the off-campus placements are more than the on-campus placements. A company has more opportunities here most of the time. The internships are not bad, but one needs to do and seek internships and placements from their own in major cases.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are average with normal blackboards and projectors. They will have smart boards if the government approves funds. The quality of hostels is average, and they need major improvement. Classrooms could be much better. We eat in the hostel mess, but it needs improvement. Even the bathroom area needs a bit of improvement. The campus also needs proper washrooms. Toilets are not clean and are not properly usable.
Faculty: All the faculty are good and their teaching is great. So far, no complaints at all. The faculty members are friendly. They guide us for our course. They help us if we need any help from them, and they also help us with projects and guide us for the internship.
Other: I chose this course because the faculty members are better in this college compared to the Assam Engineering College for the Computer Science department. The fests are okay but need improvement.

Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.) - Batch of 2029
3.6

The AC library provides a free medical checkup on November 21st, and good professors.
Placements: Since the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Dibrugarh University is one of the first pharmacy departments in the North East and a government-affiliated sector, one can expect good placements. Since we're still in the first year, we don't know much about placements yet, but according to the database of our department, most of the previous batch students are doing well in life.
Infrastructure: The pharmaceutical sciences department is still growing, developing the infrastructure with each passing year, yet it's not the best. There's Wi-Fi, but it is not available to everyone. There are benches with metal chairs that are comfortable enough. The classes have smart boards and whiteboards. They have labs, but the labs are not that good. They need more cleanliness, materials, equipment, lighting, ventilation, working taps, and most importantly, I didn't see a fire extinguisher in the lab. The library is nice, well fitted to study with readily available books; it even has AC.
Faculty: Since we are still freshers, we haven't attended classes of every professor in our department, but the ones we met were surely overqualified for this position. We have professors who studied in the USA, Florida, and South Africa. Even professors passed out from Birla University. The exams are regular to keep the students busy. They are pretty hard, but the professors provide all the information in lectures. We have credit for theory class and practical class, which is well maintained, with hard subjects like biochemistry being given more credit than the additional subjects like computer application.
Other: To be honest, my first preference was MBBS, but I couldn't waste another year on the NEET entrance. The same year, I appeared for the SSUHS entrance, which got me this pharmacy seat. I wanted to help people through medicine anyway, so I chose this course to move on in my life. I learn about the human body, diseases, medicine manufacturing, the chemical nature of medicine, biochemistry, and pathophysiology. It's really interesting to learn when you like it. If we could get better practical knowledge about pharmacy and social skills, medical coding, and software related to pharmacy, it would be great. They are improving infrastructure.

B.Sc. (Hons.) in Zoology - Batch of 2028
Offered by Sibsagar College
4.6
4Placements4Infrastructure5Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
Sibsagar College to Sibsagar University: Yet to improve.
Placements: Overall, the placement rate is good. As we all know, graduation colleges have a lower placement rate than other colleges, like engineering and all. But as compared to that, our college has its own opportunity placement through NNS, etc. Good internships are provided to each department. Somehow, it's difficult to decide where to go or placements for graduation, but if students have done a master's in this particular subject, I think our college provides good placements. One of our students has gone to Microsoft and other places.
Infrastructure: We have labs, classrooms, and a proper library, but we don't have specific rooms like our own. It is not applicable to every department, but some departments don't have it. Projector problem arrangements are quite disappointing. Wi-Fi is also available, but it is not provided to students. The usual network quality is quite disappointing. There are around three canteens in every corner of the college. Medical facilities are quite poor, but adjustable. The union body is quite supportive. Sports and games are essential. There is a good focus on sports.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, well-educated, and knowledgeable. In the semester system, it's pretty hectic to handle exams along with practical exams. Proper notes are given by our teachers, and there's no way to complain. Students choosing their own courses are relevant to their knowledge and a year. It makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are very hectic. Teachers are very supportive. Many students are very intelligent, so they can adjust very well. I can say every teacher supports students.

Review of the college infrastructure, lifestyle, facilities, etc.
Placements: I can't tell the exact percentage of students who get placed. But approximately it will be 40 percent. Many companies like ORC Engineering, High-Tech, Next, PwC, Acceleration, MRF Limited, Airtel Payments Bank, etc., visit the college for recruitment. Our college placements are decent but not that good.
Infrastructure: There is a central computing lab which digitises the overall teaching as faculty members can use software like Autocad, Revit, SketchUp, and many more, through which students can better understand the curriculum. There is also a central library which provides the necessary books for the whole course.
Faculty: Faculty members are good. They are qualified from IITs and NITs. The course curriculum is well structured and aligned with the NEP 2020. Exams are being conducted by Assam Science and Technology University, which is situated in Guwahati. Examiners are very strict in their duties and also in checking the answer scripts.
