IIT Bombay BDes Eligibility & Highlights 2025
IIT Bombay offers BDes or Bachelor of Design through IDC School of Design at the UG level. It is a four-year programme spread across eight semesters. It also offers five-year integrated BDes + MDes programme spread across 10 semesters. The option of doing a dual degree will be available at the end of third year.

Age Limit: Candidates should have been born on or after Oct 1, 1999., if belonging to Open/ EWS/ OBC-NCL Category and on or after October 1, 1994, if belonging to SC, ST or PwD Category.
UCEED Qualification: Aspirants should have obtained a rank in UCEED. A candidate can attempt UCEED a maximum of two times, and that too in consecutive years. UCEED score is valid for one year and only for admissions in the same corresponding academic year.
Qualifying examination: Candidates need to pass all five subjects in Class 12 or equivalent. Those who have appeared for the first time in the qualifying exam in 2022 or earlier are not eligible.

Selection Rounds
Once students fills the registration form, evaluation will done basis UCEED score. The category-wise rank obtained in UCEED indicates the candidate’s position in the respective category at the time of the result declaration. A merit list is released with the names of shortlisted candidates.
Counselling and Seat Allotment
The selected students have to register for counselling with a non-refundable application fee of INR 4,000. They have to provide their institute order preference. The institute conducts three rounds of seat allocation. The seats are allocated basis students All India Rank in UCEED. IIT Bombay application process is conducted in online mode. The institute accepts applications for all courses through the official portal only. IIT Bombay admissions are currently ongoing for several courses.

Admission in IIT Bombay is considered competitive. To get admission in UG engineering courses, students must first give JEE Main exam. Then if the aspirant passes the cutoff, they can appear for the JEE Advanced Exam. The entry to IITs is decided solely on the basis of JEE Advanced rank. The final seat allotment is based on JoSAA counselling.

SC AI students have to score at least 217 if they want admission at IIT Bombay. The higher the score, the better chances of admission. Those who want admission to more popular courses will have to score higher, ie, for M.Tech CSE course, a score of at least 400 is needed.
