Creative campus with supportive faculty and growing opportunities in animation.
Placements: I’m doing a B.Des. in Animation and VFX at UPES. Around 88–90% of students in our course secure placements. The highest package is 10 LPA, the average is 6.5 LPA, and the lowest is 2 LPA. Companies like Dell, TCS, and MPL hire from our course. Approximately 80% of students secure internships, often at companies like Dell and Accenture. Most roles are 2D/3D animator, VFX artist, storyboard artist, or concept artist. Placements depend a lot on how good your portfolio is. If you work hard and build skills, you get good opportunities. UPES does help, but you have to try too.
Infrastructure: Our Animation and VFX course has good labs with drawing tables, powerful PCs, Wi-Fi, and projectors. The library has useful books and is peaceful. Classrooms are clean and have AC. The hostel rooms are decent, Wi-Fi is pretty bad, not going to lie, and the washrooms are clean if maintained. Food in the mess is average, but the canteen has better options. Medical help is available 24/7 on campus. There is a sports ground, a basketball court, and indoor games too. Overall, if you stay involved and take care of things, it is a good place to learn and stay.
Faculty: Most teachers are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, especially in animation and design subjects. Some teach well, while a few are just okay. The curriculum is mostly good and covers both basic and advanced topics, including industry software. It could be updated a bit more for real-world trends, but it helps make you job-ready if you put in effort. Semester exams are not too hard if you attend classes and complete assignments. The pass percentage is high, around 90% or more. If you work regularly, it is easy to manage.
Other: The best part is learning cool stuff like 2D/3D animation, VFX, and working on real projects. Teachers support creativity. I wish the software access and class schedules were better managed. The campus is beautiful and has lots of greenery. There are fun events like Uurja and Ignite, and the crowd is chill and creative. There is Wi-Fi, sports, clubs, and decent scholarships. It is peaceful here, but far from the main city, so travel takes time.

A great college that prepares you for the future.
Placements: 1. About 90% of students have been placed in the last batch (2018-2022). 2. The highest package was about 18 L p. a, the lowest package was about 6 L p. a and the Average was about 12 L p. a. 3. Accenture, Lolipop Studios, Tata Consultancy Services, Microsoft, Dell, Shivam Labs are the top recruiters. 4. 70% of students took up internships in animation in multiple studious such as Girgit Studios, Drona Seekers, etc. 5. Visual Artist, Environment Designer, Liquid simulation artist, etc. are the top roles offered.
Infrastructure: 1. We have multiple labs with various set-ups for different purposes depending on the type of work the student is working on. The setups are equipped with the latest software used in the industry with up-to-date specs. 2. The Hostel is clean and is well suited for students who want to experience what true college life is about. There are a variety of facilities offered such as laundry, free Wi-Fi, transportation, and food services which are the most essential, other than that we have a gaming room with a pool table, TT Table, and an outdoor cricket net, basketball court, and a Badminton court.
Faculty: 1. The teachers are always ready to help and always assist you to the best of their ability. They try to ensure every student is able to cope and understand the lectures completely and are also available after hours. 2. The course subjects that are taught are very well planned and ensure the student understands the requirements of the industry. 3. If you are interested in the course, the subject is very to understand. If you are regular in class and complete the given work on time, there is no need to worry about passing or failing. The pass percentage is about 60%. .
Other: 1. I am very passionate about technology and have a strong inclination towards art, so I chose Animation which has the best of both worlds. I feel that the ability to imagine and be able to bring that imagination out the way you like it is the best part about animation. 2. It may have been better if we could have more industrial visits and professionals to come and teach us and share workflow knowledge so we know what to expect. 3. We have multiple events both related to the curriculum and extracurricular. Sports events, gaming tournaments, cultural festivals, cross-stream open electives.

Actually satisfied with the college as we have very lush green and homely atmosphere to live.
Placements: 1. The Percentage placement of our college is 80-90%. 2. Salary offered: Highest-80k the lowest-30k Average-50k 3. Godrej, LG, L&T, Suzuki, Piaggio etc. offered the job. 4. We get great learning in and out side the campus, as design is not a theory-based course so our college also provide us with the company knowledge and gives us a good platform to out case our work. 5. Package: Heights - 10lakhs Average -6lakhs the lowest- 4lakhs was offered to our course. 6. 60% of students get the internship from college rest it's on free lancing. Companies are - LG, Tata, Suzuki, Godrej, Piaggio, Tencent etc.
Infrastructure: 1. We are facilitated with the good infrastructure which includes our multi-facilitated classroom with good ventilation and working space with a trip Wi-Fi. As well as we have CAD LABS, SYNTIQUE LABS, MAC LAB, PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO, CLAY MODELING WORKSHOP AND WOODEN WORKSHOP, LIBRARY. 2. This is the demerit of our college as we don't have much culture of living in campus hostel as they aren't as spacious and only limited accommodation is valid which is on first come first serve criteria. In fact food too is not good and this makes students to take outside hostel which are far better than the campus one. Rest, for the medical and sports we have a good infirmary 24/7 ambulance for both campus and out campus students and good sports facilities including outdoor and indoor games.
Faculty: Undoubtedly faculty is damn good and qualified as they have a way with the students on how to manage the classes. They knew how fun and studies both can be done at same place. In fact they are very helpful during our projects, interns and jobs and provides us with the good platform. 2. It is equally relevant as other courses in our college and it is making us ready for the industries and for the outside world.
Other: 1. I choose this course as I was very attached to the creative stuff from my school life and best things is we have to study without studying ( as we have no course book only practical knowledge). 2. All I want to have more interaction of students to the industry, which is we must be familiar of what the industry actually wants and how it works. 3. We have both 2 Design and 1 cultural events in our campus which makes the campus live more lively and happening.

Absolutely satisfied with the campus, the location and view. Placements are average here.
Placements: This year School of Design Studies, UPES had 100% placements. Companies from metro cities like Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Mumbai, etc., visited the campus for placements. Around 80% of the students get internships from our college. There is a placement cell, and it is really useful.
Infrastructure: We are provided with the best facilities. We have a huge library. There's a separate workshop area with wood workshop, metal workshop and many more for the students of the design stream. The food available in our food court is good and hygienic. The campus environment is healthy. Hostel rooms are comparatively small but manageable.
Faculty: All of our teachers are well experienced in their respective fields, and they are knowledgeable. All kinds of teaching methods are used, and since our teachers maintain a friendly relation with us, it makes us even more comfortable in approaching them with our doubts and queries. The course curriculum is well planned and useful.
Other: A lot of events such as UURJA are conducted in our college. This year, celebrities namely DJ Catherine and Hardy Sandhu visited the campus as guest performers.

Disappointed in the number of assignments they give in one semester.
Placements: Around 25% of placements. The highest package is 15LPA, the lowest package is 4LPA, and the average package is 7LPA. Around 30% of the students got an internship in various companies. According to their profile they wanted to work on animation artist, VFX artist, and sound designer, video and production work, all we get trained for industry ready work.
Infrastructure: The school of design is equipped with all necessary labs and all classrooms are clean and neat. We even have a different section of design in the library which is equipped with all well-known authors. Hostels are near and clean. The quality of food is good and hygienic.
Faculty: Teachers are knowledgeable and they make learning fun. For the school of design, the juries are quite tough. They give calculated and good remarks on the work done and the passing percentage are 5 pointers. However, sometimes it gets difficult to meet all the deadlines before hitting the respective date of submission.
Other: I always wanted to explore my way in design and animation happens to be our stream. The best thing about our course is we get to learn different software from all utilities. If I could improve anything about the course I would try changing modules in 1st year and combining them into a single semester. Events are fun and interesting. There are always some workshops and activities going on campus and they are super fun to attend and a chance to interact with different streams of students.
