Marine Engineering is minimum of 60% marks in PCM and minimum of 50% in English in 10+2 and have qualified IMU-CET. Admission criteria for M.Tech. Marine Engineering and Management is 60% marks in BE/B.Tech. in Marine Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering/ Naval Architecture and have qualified IMU-CET. Admission criteria for MBA International Transportation & Logistics Management is 50% marks in graduation and qualified IMU-CET. Admission into other short-term courses will be based on the strict technical capabilities of the candidates as mandated by the university from time to time.

In 2019, over 12 recruiters visited the IMU Kolkata Campus who hired 145 cadets. During the 2018 placement drive, over 148 students had been placed.

Then you will have to score good marks in the university external exams . The overall pass mark is to score more than 50 marks compulsory, with more than 35 out of 70 in external mandatory. If you score low in Internal exams then you just have to score good in externals and need to insure that it passes the overall 50 marks in total as well.

It is good, although you shouldn't expect much from any mess of any college. The quality of food is good on average and there are mess members from each batch who decide their menu for the whole month with the consultations of other cadets.
