To get admitted to the M.Tech programme of JKLU Jaipur, candidates must start with checking their eligibility against the preset criteria. If they are eligible as per the criteria, they must register their candidature for admission through the university's official website.

After the registration and the application process, candidates are shortlisted by the university based on their performance in the qualifying degree examination or GATE. The university may also conduct other selection rounds before final admission. Selected candidates must pay the requisite fees for seat confirmation.

The JKLU PhD course structure includes three phases. The first phase is Pre-Phd Coursework which lasts 6 to 12 months. During the Pre-PhD Coursework, candidates must complete a minimum number of credits based on their qualifications:

• MPhil/MTech – 12 credits
• MSc, MA, MBA – 12 credits
• BTech – 16 credits

The coursework includes a mix of lecture-based learning, laboratory research, design projects, self-study, and minor research work. It is followed by the second phase, i.e. Research Proposal (Post Coursework). Upon completing the coursework, scholars must submit a research proposal within 3 months. The proposal is evaluated by concerned autorities before approval.

The final phase commences after the Research Proposal has been approved. In this phase, scholars are required to conduct research in their chosen area and present their research progress every six months until their thesis is finally submitted.

JK Lakshmipat University PhD admission is subject to the fulfilment of the eligibility criteria specified by the university. Candidate who fulfil the below-given eligibility requirements and have the necessary documents supporting their eligibility can apply for admission:

• At least 55% or 5.5/10 CGPA in the master's degree or equivalent in relevant subject, OR
• At least 75% or 7.5/10 CGPA in BTech/BE, OR
• At least 60% or 6/10 CGPA in BTech/BE with over 10 years of relevant industry experience

Further, the university may provide a 5% relaxation in the qualifying marks or a 0.5 CGPA adjustment to candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC, differently-abled, and EWS categories. Candidates currently in the final year of their qualifying degree may also apply for provisional admission.

The GATE 2026 registration is now ongoing at gate2026.iitg.ac.in. Candidates can fill out the application form till September 28 (without late fees). The last date to submit the GATE 2026 application form with late fees is October 9.
