KSOU infrastructure includes hostel accommodation for both boys and girls. It has 21 regional and 184 learning support centres spread across the entire state, a laboratory, a fully furnished guesthouse, and a canteen with hygienic food at affordable prices. KSOU also houses a gym, a health centre, and a post office and provides campus-wide Wi-Fi coverage for all its students. KSOU Campus Highlights
The KSOU campus has its headquarters located in Mysore, Karnataka. Currently, the university has separate hostel accommodation for both men and women. The university has undertaken the construction of a 24/7 library facility for all its students. KSOU infrastructure houses an in-campus SBI ATM and banking facility with 24/7 CCTV surveillance. It also houses a guesthouse with 75 rooms providing spacious and modern accommodation. It also has a health centre for its students in the northwest location of the university campus, as well as a post office service for its students and staff and a well-stocked library.
KSOU campus students have access to a plethora of digital services, such as access to e-content, virtual labs, and re-establishment of the radio station called ‘Jnana Vani', since recognition of KSOU by UGC from 2018-19. All necessary amenities are provided within the university campus. KSOU Hostel Facilities
KSOU hostel accommodation is available for both females and males in separate hostels. The KSOU women's hostel on the campus has a total capacity of 56 students at a time. Each room can accommodate 2 students in a single room. In addition to this, students have to pay a security deposit, which is refundable; however, students will be charged a penalty if they are found to be staying in the hostel without a valid receipt. Students have to follow discipline on the premises of the university.
KSOU infrastructure includes hostel facilities for its male students as well, with 7 hostels comprising multiple rooms. The KSOU men’s hostel also works on a sharing accommodation basis, just as the KSOU female hostel. 9 students can stay in each hostel, making it 3 men per room. Since KSOU infrastructure has limited hostels, students should contact the information cell before arriving at the university.
KSOU Hostel Fee
Both the men’s and women’s hostel fees are INR 50 per head on a per-day basis and an additional INR 250, which is a refundable amount if no damages occur to the hostel property by the occupant. INR 250 acts as a security deposit, which is to be paid by both men and women. This makes the total hostel fee INR 300.
KSOU LIBRARY
KSOU library has over 109,295 records, including books, bound volumes, audio-visual materials, etc. The library follows the Dewey decimal classification system for organising documents for its collection and houses over 3,599 eBooks, which adds advantage to the KSOU academic society. The KSOU library working hours are from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm on all working days, including government holidays; however, during contact programs and university examinations, the timings are from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.
Karnataka State Open University also recognises the urgent need to develop a learning resource centre for the visually challenged and is working on it on an urgent basis. It has also launched the KSOU Radio mobile app for its students, accessible through the KSOU website. Here, they can access lessons and supplementary materials from skilled professors and external resource persons as per their convenience, as the 2-hour program is rebroadcast over 2 hours. KSOU offers hostel accommodation for men with a nominal fee of INR 50 per head on day. It has 7 hostels comprising 3 rooms. Nine students are allowed to stay in 1 hostel. KSOU also has a guesthouse available for academicians. It has 75 rooms, well-equipped with modern amenities and a good ambience. The guesthouse is just a 5-minute walk away from the academic block.
The KSOU library is open from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM on all working days, as well as on government holidays too. However, during contact programs and university examinations, the timings are from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Infrastructure: Our college had excellent facilities. Our course was entirely online, so there were no complications. The online infrastructure worked well without any glitches. Recorded sessions were available. As our course was online, we didn't check for facilities like hostels, food, and sports. There were no technical issues, and our classes went smoothly.
Infrastructure: Hostel facilities were available, and the rooms were good and well-ventilated. The hostel provided a healthy lifestyle for students. Students must pay an amount of Rs.3,000 of which the hostel fee was Rs.1000 and Rs.2,000 was a depository refundable amount. The hostel room had beds, chairs, fans, study tables, cupboards, etc. Wi-Fi was provided in the hostel.
Infrastructure: There is Wi-Fi on campus and a very good library. Importance is given to our fitness and games. The hostel is too good and our seniors are very friendly. The labs in this college are very well and the infrastructure is too good and food too.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, labs, and facilities are good in our college. Food served is good and the hostel provides facilities like water, canteen, and play area to play games after class hours. Our college will help students to improve their skills.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, labs, classroom, library, etc. are available. Teaching quality is good and all the instructors are well qualified. There is a great canteen and the food is good too. We used to play cricket, football, volleyball, tennis, etc. in the playground. They used to conduct tournaments occasionally.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good modern workshops for all courses, good faculty members, and classrooms. The library is also there containing marine-related books and practice papers. Facilities like basketball ground, football ground we can in the evening, and good quality are not up to mark especially for north Indians canteen food is good for everyone and its cheap too. Sports like basketball, football, and volleyball were played every day.
Infrastructure: The college is in a decent place. The books required for the study are provided here. Since it is a distance education based course, the college ensures all materials required by the students are provided to them. The library has a decent amount of books.
Infrastructure: Classrooms and infrastructure are not in very good condition. Study materials are good, and lecturers are also good and teach in very easy language. The hostel facility is provided by our university, and it has a good infrastructure. The hostel provides food and has many types of facilities.
Infrastructure: Our college provides stinking mattresses and pillows. Water is available only for 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening. There is no proper drinking water. Food is prepared unhygienically, and it doesn't have any taste. It is made up of low-quality vegetables and pulses. There is no Wi-Fi and medical facilities.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of the college is also very good. It provides all the facilities like Wi-Fi, well-maintained library, sports ground, medical facilities and many more. As the college is in Chennai, South Indian dishes are good but North Indian is tasteless. But overall infrastructure is good.
Infrastructure: It's a well-planned university, and it has branches all over the state. The infrastructure of our college was good, and there are a library and well-planned classrooms. Our college has good hostels as they look like a small villa in between garden. Food, medical and all facilities were available here. I liked the garden, which reduces stress and provides a harmonic environment.
Infrastructure: Facilities provided by our institute are average compared to other institutes in Chennai. The infrastructure provided is awesome, but Wi-Fi is not available for 24x7, and it is only available during working hours. Classrooms are good. The quality of the food served in the mess is good, but non-vegetarian food is not allowed. The medical facility is available 24x7. In sports, there are many indoor and outdoor games.
Infrastructure: Our campus has everything according to DGS requirements. The infrastructure includes an on-campus ship, bridge room, engine room simulator lab, swimming pool, mechanical lab, electrical lab, GP marine maintenance shop, seamanship lab, hostel building, DNS marine maintenance shop, etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is also good. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled. Labs, classrooms, library are neat and clean. Sports facilities are also very good, and almost every sport is played. Food served in the canteen is good, and canteen is fully air-conditioned. Overall, the college is very good.
