Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith (also known as MGKVP Varanasi) is a state-level university located in Varanasi. MGKVP infrastructure includes world-class classrooms, a health center, hostels, an incubation center, a sports complex, a research center, a computer center, etc. The university has more than 350 affiliated colleges spread over five districts (Varanasi, Chandauli, Bhadohi, Mirzapur, and Sonbhadra). MGKVP Campus Highlights 

The campus of MGKVP is very large and has all the basic amenities to cater to the needs of students' academic lives. Spread over 180 acres of land, Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith is located at Chetganj, Varanasi. The university has separate accommodation facilities for students and faculty members. MGKVP has three campuses, namely the Gangapur campus, the NTPC campus, and the Bhairav Talab campus. The MGKVP campus is well-connected via train, bus, and plane. The university campus is just 1 km away from Varanasi railway station and 2 km from the bus stand. To support the holistic development of students, the university has a dedicated health centre catering to the medical needs of students, staff, and faculty. MGKVP Hostel Facilities

There are five on-campus hostels, namely Acharya Narendradev Hostel, Dr. Sampurnanand Research Hostel, Lal Bahadur Shastri Hostel, J.K. Women's Hostel, and Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Hostel, available for the students. One separate hostel is available for female students, which is on a shared basis. Four students are allowed in one room. All the hostels are closely run under the supervision of wardens. The wardens are responsible for maintaining the discipline and smooth working of the hostels. MGKVP hostels are well-maintained and have all the basic furniture, such as beds, study tables and chairs, bookshelves, wardrobes, common recreation rooms, etc. Mess facilities are also available on the hostel campuses for students. All the hostels have different room counts, which are allocated to the students who wish to choose to stay on campus. The hostel-wise room count is provided in the table below:

The university also has a separate guest house for visitors. The guest house has deluxe and super deluxe rooms. In total, there are seven deluxe rooms along with one suite. A meeting hall is also available with the suite. All the modern amenities, including 24*7 wifi facility, 24-hour electricity and water supply, etc. Other facilities of the guest house are as follows:

MGKVP Library

The university has a central library called Dr. Bhagwandas. The Central Library is situated in the middle of the university's campus. The area of the library, including both floors, is 2250 sq. meters. The library is well-stocked and has a vast collection of books, journals, e-books, theses, etc. The book services are available for both students and the faculty members as defined by the rules and regulations. MGKVP Sports Facilities 

Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith has a sports complex that offers both indoor and outdoor games to promote a healthy lifestyle among students. It has a council called the University Sports Council of Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith (USCMGKVP) to encourage sports activities. The complex includes a multipurpose indoor gymnasium with facilities for a gym, badminton court, table tennis, kabaddi, karate, pan-cock-slot, weightlifting, and powerlifting, along with yoga mats. Outdoor facilities feature a large multipurpose ground (135 m x 178 m) equipped with a basketball court, volleyball court, archery range, cricket ground, handball ground, hockey, football, kho-kho court, and more. 

Places to visit in & around the MGKVP Campus

During their free time, there are many places to explore both in and around the Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith's campus. On campus, there is Bharat Mata Temple, which was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi in 1936. Known for its rich tradition, Varanasi has a lot of places to explore, such as Assi Ghat, which is very famous for its morning and evening aartis. The second most famous place to go is the Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
