Nagaland University was established by an Act of Parliament by the Government of India in 1989. It is a Central University in Nagaland State. The university offers 257 courses in 18 fields. After comparison, ICFAI seems to be more expensive than Nagaland University, as both university similar placements. 

The University has disclosed the median package for UG and PG courses. Looking at the past three years' data (2020 to 2022), an improving trend was recorded in the median package of PG (2-year) courses, whereas, the median package for UG (4-year) courses has dropped from 2020 to 2022. The official placement report or brochure is yet to be released. As per the data fetched from NIRF report 2023, 6 UG (4-year) and 106 PG (2-year) students were placed during the 2022 placements. The  Nagaland University the highest package has not been disclosed officially. However, the course-wise median package is available in the NIRF report 2023. After comparing both universities, ICFAI University has poor placement as compared to Nagaland University. Last year only 20%  of students of ICFAI University had got placement whereas in Nagaland University the highest package was 13 lakh per annum and the average was 4.5 Lakh per annum which is quite good as compared to other colleges of Nagaland. So, go with Nagaland University in terms of placement.

MAT counseling involve 2 to 3 rounds including Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interviews (PI) and Written Ability Tests. All the councelling rounds are conducted by the respective colleges. Candidates will be taking part in these rounds depending upon the process of the respective colleges. The counseling schedule will also ber decided by the colleges only. All India Management Association (AIMA) does not play any role in the counselling process. Different institutes set their own counseling guidelines for admission. • Shortlisted candidates are offered Admission through MAT Counselling.

Admission at Nagaland University is merit-based only. Admission to UG courses is based on the class 12th performance of the candidate and admission to PG courses is based on the performance or score in the previous qualifying exam.
