NFSU Gandhinagar is a very serious college when it comes to academics.
Placements: Placement Cell of our university is good, but the majority of placements are for MBA students. For our integrated B.Sc. M.Sc. course, the placements are average as of now. Every year, since I joined in 2021, they keep increasing. I pass out this year but get no placement from my university.
Infrastructure: We have hostels on campus and off campus, and both of them are amazing. They have air-conditioned, spacious rooms and hostel blocks with all the major amenities. The campus is also great. It is in Gandhinagar and not far from the main centres of the city. Each school of the university has its own buildings. Those buildings have their own labs and departmental libraries. Our building has a floor full of testing centres.
Faculty: All faculty members in our courses hold multiple degrees, and their teaching is also up to the mark. A five-year integrated course is too much to ask, but our faculty members help us keep our shape and keep going.
Other: I always want to be a forensic officer, and that is the main reason I chose this course. There is a very interesting and diverse crowd at NFSU. There is no common fest, but departmental fests keep happening all around the year at NFSU.

One of the most overrated.
Placements: About the hiring and placements, 20–30% of students got placed. Companies like Salesforce, Stock Exchange India, KPMG, Deloitte, and EY recruited students. The highest package was 23 LPA. The roles offered were InfoSec Engineer and Cyber Security Engineer. PhonePe also had really good offers and PPO opportunities.
Infrastructure: Facilities were top-notch. The canteen did not allow non-vegetarian food. There were some political affiliations with the BJP. The college came under the Ministry of Home Affairs, so there were many political learnings. I felt that the amount of money flowing into the college was not proportional to the output.
Faculty: One or two teachers were good. The curriculum was relevant, and the semester exams were moderately difficult. The passing percentage of students was around 50–60%, depending on the semester. Usually, odd semesters were harder than even semesters. This was what I realized.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in network security. The course was good, but placements could be improved. The events were nice.

Most of the faculty members are retired officers.
Placements: Deloitte Forensics, EY Forensic & Integrity Services, Grant Thornton Bharat Forensics, NMS Labs, and Cellebrite are a few of the forensic corporations that take part in the recruitment journey of our university. We also got opportunities to work in various labs as part of the course.
Infrastructure: Different types of specialisations like forensic physics, biotechnology, physiology, etc., are added to the courses. Individual labs for every section, like DNA, toxicology, ballistics, and others, are initiated. Libraries are available with more than 70,000 books, even accessible through the national digital libraries.
Faculty: Lower priority is provided for written examinations. Most of the professors are retired officers from IB, CBI, and CFSL. To train the students with industrial practices, people from forensics are invited to take such modules for clear explanations. In the last semester, the project credits were huge. We are allowed to work on crime cases as our university comes under Maharashtra.

Really cool and culturally inclusive campus.
Placements: I am from the batch 2024-2026. I passed out very recently. The top recruiters for our course were Excel Envirotech, Zydus Lifesciences, Geonomads, and so on. Out of 15 students from my batch almost all the students got placed except for one student so I think it's a fairly good percentage.
Infrastructure: The laboratory facilities in our course were great at NFSU Gandhinagar. We had access to a lot of highly sophisticated instruments like HPLC, GC, LC, HPTLC, and many instruments for advanced environmental monitoring for air and water. I was really happy about our laboratories.
Faculty: The faculty members who taught us this programme were very cooperative and approachable. I was happy with the lesson delivery and the content. The faculty members explained even the toughest concepts easily. My Master's journey was fairly smooth because of the faculty members.
Other: The coordination with laboratory assistants to get all the required reagents and glassware was good but improvement can be done on ensuring daily-basis access to equipment like the analytical balance and distillation unit is readily accessible to all laboratories.

Good teachers, great experience, and good placement opportunities.
Placements: 100 percent of students from my course got a placed in well-reputed firms. Top recruiting companies are Larson and Toubro (L&T) and Tata Consulting Services. Some top roles are environmental forensic analyst, EIA specialists, and environmental consultants. On one hand the highest package offered in my course is 16 LPA while on the other hand the lowest package is 4 LPA. The average package for a student is 6 LPA. 90 percent of students from my course currently have an internship in many reputed firms and government offices namely IITM, GPCB, and ONGC.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure of the college campus are top-notch with 5 G Wi-Fi connection, a laboratory with all the modern equipment, and a huge library. The canteen provides clean, healthy, and tasty food. Even the sports facilities are really good.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, calm, and experienced in their respective fields. They are always ready to help me whenever I need. The teaching quality has been excellent throughout the years. The teachers always prepare us for the industries and provide us with all the practical knowledge necessary.
Other: I chose the course because I was always intrigued by environmental forensics. The best thing about pursuing this course is that the equipment and experience of teachers here is second to None. One honest feedback which I would like to give is that the students must be given at least one leave between each final examination. Continuous exams every day become very hectic and difficult for them. Rest assured everything is really top-notch and worth every penny.

A great employable course M.Sc. Environmental Science (Environment Forensics) at NFSU.
Placements: In my batch, out of 15 students, 9 students get placed. I do not really know about the highest package, but the lowest package is 10 LPA. The top recruiting companies for our course are SWAN Environment Pvt. Ltd., Gujarat Pollution Control Board, Geonomads, TGIS, and so on.
Infrastructure: In our course, we have air-conditioned classrooms with smart boards, and Wi-Fi. A really good library is available both online and offline. The laboratory also has many high-end instruments like GC-MS, LC-MS, HPLC, etc. We get a chance to work on these instruments during practical sessions.
Faculty: Teachers in our course are very friendly, approachable, and helpful. They are well-qualified. All of them are Ph.D. holders. The syllabus is relevant to current environmental issues and is very contemporary. The semester exams are moderately tough, but all of my 15 batchmates pass successfully at the end.
Other: All in all, I can recommend anyone who wants to pursue a career in Environmental Science to enroll in NFSU. It has been a very memorable journey for me.
