Nirma University BDes Highlights 2026

Nirma University also offers a number of UG programmes, such as BArch, BCom (Hons), BDes, BA LLB (Hons) and BCom LLB (Hons). Nirma University admission to these courses is entrance-based.

The Department of Design under Nirma University offers a BDes programme in Industrial Design and Communication Design for a duration of four years. Admission BDes is considered the basis of Class 12 scores, qualifying for entrance exams like UCEED/ NU-DET along with a situation test and personal interview.

Our college provides great facilities.

Placements: Our college provides good placement and internship opportunities. Many seniors got placed in our college. Some students opted for masters. The highest salary package offered is 15 LPA. The average salary package offered ranges between 6.5 LPA - 7 LPA.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our department is good and clean. It has a well-spaced studio. A separate locker is provided to each student. It is good to store students' work safely in the department itself. Wi-Fi is available but for laptops only. We have good computer labs with all the necessary software and hardware. We have good workshop facilities. The hostel facilities are available on campus.

Faculty: We have great faculty members. They are well-qualified from premier institutes and have great experience in industry and teaching. The faculty-student ratio is good. They solve our problems. The interaction between faculty members and students is good. Our college provides good industry exposure from the foundation year itself.

Other: Only a few students are studying in our course.

The quality of education in Nirma University is really good.

Placements: The first batch hasn't been graduated yet so it is a little difficult to answer this question at the moment. Internships are compulsory from first year throughout the course and hence every student is able to find an internship and if they can't the college helps them find one.

Infrastructure: The facilities provided are top notch and nothing is compromised when it comes to providing facilities, except Nirma doesn't provide hostels to Bachelor students. The food is provided by three canteens that are common for all the institutes and is eatable. The lack of hostels for Bachelors students is something to be looked at but not really a problem.

Faculty: The education of Nirma University is best in class and is equally good to that of other colleges like NID. The implementation of internships every year helps the students get industry ready and is also very helpful. The course curriculum is being changed every year with the feedback of the students to provide better and more practical knowledge to the students.

Quite satisfied with quality of education given.

Placements: No placements yet. As my batch is the first batch for the specific course, we don't have much information about it. But we do have internships at the end of every year. We have to find them on our own but faculty members do help us to get into great companies.

Infrastructure: Well-equipped computer labs, classrooms with open spaces and a library. The libraries have great books with new ones coming in frequently. Fresh and green campus and 3 canteens. The food is of good quality but the benches need to increase along with the cleanliness.

Faculty: All our faculty members are highly qualified and most of them being from NID. We have new visiting faculty members for every course. The faculties are very helpful. There are at least 2 faculty members for each course and the students are around 35. Great industry exposure and frequent guest lectures and workshops are carried out.

Other: Our department hosted its first FEAT this year which was put up solely by the students.

Average satisfied with good placement and good infrastructure.

Placements: I am currently in the second year, so I have no experience with placements yet. However, since I have completed one year, I got an internship from the institute itself and worked there for a month. It is a great experience, and although it is unpaid, it is good.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure and facilities are well enough, but there are problems, as there is no AC in the design department while other departments have this facility, which is kind of irritating. Overall, the infrastructure and facilities are very good. There are grounds and a gym available for students.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and sweet. They are highly qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is far better than that of many other universities. The course curriculum is relevant and helps a lot with modern design. However, partiality is present, as I am failed because the teacher has a grudge against me and she is the one who fails me.

Other: I have an interest in design from the start and have always been enthusiastic about it. I have always wanted to become a designer. I tried for NID, but sadly, I didn’t clear it, so I got into this university, and it is good. Events are held every now and then. The crowd is a lot, but the campus is great and the surroundings are very well maintained.
