The University conducts its own entrance test for admission to PhD programme. Any candidate, who has done master’s in the relevant discipline of law, can apply for the same. The final selection of students will be based on the entrance test scores and the performance in PI. Eligibility criteria for the PhD programme is given below:

NLIU Bhopal offers a PhD programme in three different disciplines of Law. PhD is offered with a minimum course duration of two to three years and a maximum of six. The University conducts its own entrance test for admission to PhD programme. Any candidate, who has done master’s in the relevant discipline, can apply for the same. Below mentioned are the PhD specialisations offered at NLIU Bhopal: 

1. PhD in Law.
2. PhD (Inter-Disciplinary)
3. PhD in Cyber Law and Information Security.

NLIU Bhopal accepts the CLAT entrance exam for admission to its BA LLB. (Hons.) and BSc LLB (Hons) [Cyber Security] courses at the undergraduate level. NLIU Bhopal CLAT cutoff 2025 for Round 1 is out for different categories of students in the All India and Home State quotas. For the AI quota, the CLAT first round cutoff 2025 for BA LLB (Hons) and BSc. LLB (Hons) in Cyber Security courses stood at 458 and 821, respectively. For the HS quota, the cutoff rank for admission to the BA LLB (Hons) course was 1085, while for the BSc. LLB (Hons) course, the cutoff was 2236.

NLIU Bhopal offers admission to the 5-year integrated law courses based on CLAT entrance examination results, followed by counselling rounds. CLAT cutoff 2025 for round 1 is out, where the closing rank for B.Sc. LL.B (Hons)(Cyber Security) and B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) course was 821 and 458, respectively, for students belonging to the General AI category.

 For NLU Jodhpur, which also offers 5-year integrated law courses based on candidates' performance in the CLAT entrance exam, followed by the counselling process. The first round closing rank stood at 357 for the General category candidates.
Therefore, after analysing the cutoff ranks for both institutions, NLU Bhopal is on the easier side for admissions, considering its ranks went up to 821 as compared to NLU Jodhpur’s cutoff rank, which was 357.
