CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2024
Candidates are advised to check the CLAT 2024 eligibility criteria before filling the CLAT 2024 Application Form. The CLAT 2024 eligibility for UG and PG courses are as under:Â
UG CLAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria: Candidates appearing for CLAT UG 2024 can check the eligibility below:Â
- Candidates must secure the following minimum percentage of marks in their qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2 or an equivalent examination):
- Forty five percent (45%) marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to General / OBC / PWD / NRI / PIO / OCI categories
- Forty Percent (40%) marks or equivalent in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.
- Candidates who may be appearing for their qualifying examination in March/ April, 2023 are also eligible to appear for the CLAT 2023 examination. Q: Â What is the age limit for CLAT 2024?
Candidates must note that they need to attain the prescribed CLAT 2024 age limit to take part in CLAT Exam 2024. As per the official eligibility criteria of the CLAT 2024, there is no age-limit criteria for candidates to appear in CLAT UG 2024 or CLAT PG 2024 exam. However, it is mandatory for candidates to fulfill other basic educational requirements, to take part in the CLAT Exam 2024.
Candidates must pass Class 12 examination by April/May 2024 and submit the passing certificates at the time of admission.
To be eligible for the CLAT PG 2024, you must have a minimum percentage of 50 per cent in LLB or any other equivalent degree from a recognised university.

Candidates who have completed class 12th or equivalent in any stream from a recognised board can appear for CLAT 2024 Exam. Candidates must note that in order to apply they should have scored minimum 45 percentage marks in Class 12th.This is only applicable for General/ OBC / PWD / NRI / PIO / OCI categories. How to fill out CLAT Application Form 2024?
The registration process for CLAT 2024 is online. Also, the registration window is the same for both the UG and PG candidates. The candidate can select the program of study at the time of filling out the application form. Candidates can follow step-by step process mentioned below to fill in the CLAT 2024 Application Form:
Step 1 - Online Registration:
- Click on the registration link - consortiumofnlus.ac.in
- You will be redirected to a registration window
- Click on the "Register" button
- A registration form will open where you will have to enter registration details like name, mobile number, email id. Also, select and confirm a password for the candidate account.
Step 2: Filling CLAT Application Form 2024
To access the application form, you need to log in to the account using your phone number and password. Once you log in, you will see the following screen.  Â
Proceed to fill out the form.
- Select the program of study:Â You have to select the Under Graduate (UG) 5-Year LLB Course or Post Graduate (PG) 1-Year LLM Course. Then press the "Apply for CLAT 2024" button.
- CLAT 2024 application form - Personal details:
In this section, you will have to upload a photograph and your signature in jpeg/png format. Other details that have to be entered include the date of birth, mothers' and father's name, gender, nationality, All India Category under which admission is sought (SC/ST, OBC, or General). Reserved category, PwD, and BPL candidates need to upload the relevant certificate. Finally, mention the domicile state.
- Enter Communication Details: In this section, enter your present and permanent address.Â
- Education Details: Select the qualifying exam from the drop-down menu, enter the name of the board (or university), appearing/appeared or passed, year and month of passing, and percentage.Â
- Enter Test Centre Preferences - In this section you have to select three exam centers for CLAT 2024 exam. Select Test Center Preference – 1 for the test center with the first preference. Use Test Center Preference – 3 for the least preferred exam center. The CLAT 2024 exam will be conducted in more than 80 test centers.

Candidates in this section can select categories individually for each NLU. Candidates who want to apply under additional categories can use this section. Candidates are advised to check CLAT Reservation Criteria 2024 and intake for seats reserved at all NLUs before filling CLAT application form. NLU Preference List 2024:
Candidates will not be able to submit the application form for CLAT 2024 until they select NLUs and courses in the order of their preferences. Candidates must note that candidates can only enter NLU preferences till November 3, 2023. Step 3: Submission of the Application Form
Ensure that the various sections of the CLAT application form are duly and correctly filled. Note that all the details will be checked at the time of counseling registration, and any mismatch can lead to disqualification. Once you are satisfied that the application is complete in all respects -Â

Q: Â CLAT Application Form 2024 can be filled offline?
There is no option to fill out the CLAT 2024 application form in offline mode. Also, the candidate does not have the option to take printout of the online application form, fill it, and submit it at the admission office. Instead, the entire application process has to be completed online. So, to fill out the form, go the CLAT 2024 admission portal, click on the application link, and complete the application process. Note that the application form will be hosted at the UCEED 2024 web portal, which will be launched once application form opens.
CLAT 2024 Application Correction Window
The Consortium of NLUs will enable the facility for updating test centre preferences. To update their categories and test centres, candidates will have to follow the steps to edit CLAT application as under:

Around 60,000 candidates appear in the CLAT exam. In 2021, 70,277 candidates registered for the exam out of which 62,106 appeared. In 2020, out of 75,183 registrations, 59,443 students appeared in the exam. Out of 59,443 appeared candidates, 53,226 appeared for UG, and 6,217 appeared for the PG exam.Â
CLAT 2024 applications are for admission to the five-year integrated and one-year LLM courses offered by the 24 participating NLUs. These NLUs offer a combined intake of 2,644 seats for the integrated program, and 914 seats for the program.

Q: Â For which courses CLAT Exam conducted?
The full form of CLAT is Common Law Admission Test. CLAT is a national-level entrance exam that is conducted for admission to Undergraduate B.A. LL.B. BBA LL.B.Com LL.B.Sc. LL.B. And Postgraduate LL. M. courses offered by the participating National Law Universities. The entrance exam is held in pen-paper mode for two hours. Candidates qualifying CLAT are then shortlisted for admission to the 23 NLUs through Centralized Counselling Process. CLAT exam scores are also accepted by private universities that have signed MOU with the consortium of NLUs as well as, top private law colleges in India. Meanwhile, many popular PSUs use CLAT PG scores for recruitment purposes. Therefore, CLAT for UG candidates serves the purpose of admission, and for PG candidates admissions and recruitment process.
Q: Â What all documents required to apply for CLAT?
The documents required to apply for CLAT 2024 are:
- A scanned photograph
- A scanned signature
- Scanned copies of class 10 and 12 mark sheets
- A scanned copy of the category certificate (if applicable)
- A scanned copy of the receipt of the application fee payment
The photographs and signatures must be in JPEG format and the file size must not exceed 200 KB and 100 KB respectively. The mark sheets and category certificates must be in PDF format and the file size must not exceed 2 MB each. The receipt of the application fee payment must also be in PDF format and the file size must not exceed 2 MB.
