NLU Assam Highlights 2025
The National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam has been established by the Government of Assam by way of enactment of the National Law School and Judicial Academy, Assam Act, 2009 Assam Act No. XXV of 2009. The word 'School' was replaced by the word 'University' by amending the National Law School and Judicial Academy, Assam Amendment Act, 2011. It is one of the autonomous law schools in India.
NLU Assam offers UG, PG, and PhD courses across the Law stream. The flagship courses offered at NLUJAA are LLM and BA LLB. The university offers merit-based scholarships to the serving students. The University provides a five-year integrated course called B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) Five-Year Integrated Course, in which the first two years of study combine law courses with Social Science disciplines like Economics, History, Political Science, and Sociology as well as an English language course. For the first three years of school, every topic is required. But in the fourth and fifth years, students can choose from five different streams of optional subjects: Corporate and Intellectual Property Law; Administrative and Constitutional Law; Consumer Protection and Environmental Law; Criminal Law and Criminology; and International Law and Human Rights. The Semester System is used by the NLUJA. There are two semesters in each academic year, making the complete Five-Year Course divided into ten semesters.

NLU Assam placements 2025 has not been released yet. As per NLU Assam NIRF report 2024, the median package offered during UG 5-year placements 2023 stood at INR 6.8 LPA. Further, 16 students were placed and 20 opted for higher studies out of 70 students during UG 5-year placements in 2023. Earlier, the institute released the NIRF report 2023 on its official website.
