Candidates with an MBBS degree from an institution/ university recognised by the National Medical Council are eligible to apply for admission in the MD programme. As a matter of fact all Medical colleges in India respective of the category to which they belong like government medical colleges, private medical colleges, Medical College of the armed forces, medical colleges of the deemed to be universities or even private universities, these all are mandated by law to give admission in their medical colleges exclusively on the basis of score obtained in nationality exam called NEET. No concession in whatever format is granted to any medical college in the country to give admission without NEET score. Even the management quota seats have to be filled up exclusively on the merit obtained by student in this entrance exam. Program Institute of Medical sciences also follows these rules and gives admissions based on scoring in NEET.
