Rabindranath Tagore University generally does not offer direct admissions for any of its courses. Students wishing to enrol in to the courses provided at the university need to ensure that they meet the admission criteria set of the same. For most of the RNTU Bhopal courses, admissions are entrance-based. Students need to appear for AJEE exam or provide valid scores secured in other exams to be eligible for admission. Rabindranath Tagore University provides B.E in various specialisations. Students enrolled in these specialisations are eligible to avail of various scholarships. Some of these scholarships are provided by the MP government through its online scholarship portal. Candidates belonging to the backward classes (SC/ST/OBC) and lower economic sections of society can apply for these scholarships. Further, the university offers Shiksha Mitra Scholarship (not for B.E CSE students) and Chancellor's Scholarship to meritorious students pursuing B.E.

In the field of Engineering, Rabindranath Tagore University offers a Bachelor of Engineering (BE), which is considered similar to a BTech.  Just like a BTech, BE at RNTU is a four-year programme offered at the UG level. Students can choose among the seven BE specialisations offered at the university. These specialisations include Civil Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering,  Mechanical Engineering, etc. Interested candidates can visit the university's official website to apply or enquire about the programme.

Rabindranath Tagore University BE admission is entrance-based. Candidates are selected based on their scores in the AJEE conducted by the AISECT Group of Universities. They are also required to fulfil the course-specific eligibility criteria for admission. Eligible candidates can complete the application process in online or offline mode. Such candidates must report to the campus for document verification and submit the first instalment of the course fee.

Rabindranath Tagore University offers scholarships of up to 40% through its Shiksha Mitra Scholarship Scheme. Students pursuing BCom, BBA, BCA, BA LLB, BA, BAJMC, B.E (except CSE), or BSC (except Nursing & Agriculture) at RNTU Bhopal can avail of these scholarships.
