Rabindranath Tagore University generally does not offer direct admissions for any of its courses. Students wishing to enrol in to the courses provided at the university need to ensure that they meet the admission criteria set of the same. For most of the RNTU Bhopal courses, admissions are entrance-based. Students need to appear for AJEE exam or provide valid scores secured in other exams to be eligible for admission. In order to be accepted into post graduate courses, a bachelor's degree needs to be obtained. 

RNTU Bhopal offers BTech in 7 specialisations for 4 years in full-time mode. The University offers an annual intake of 264 students for all the specialisations combined. Admission to RNTU Bhopal is based on the applicants' performance in the AISECT Joint of Universities Entrance Exam (AJEE). Further, applicants must fulfil the Rabindranath Tagore University BE eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria require applicants to have passed Class 12 from a recognised board, with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and a minimum aggregate of 45% ( 40% in case of SC/ST candidates). The fees structure of BTech covers a total tuition fees ranging from INR 1.8 Lacs to INR 2.2 Lakh.
